Definitely not the same taste or vibe as the spot in Norfolk. It was a very okay experience and less than okay taste. Spice levels were a joke. Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets have more heat than the "Indian hot" vindaloo; and I'm not sure why everything we tried had an overwhelming sweetness to it. Food is delish. Spot on wonderful mostly. Samosas aren't as good as some other places are are just ok. $3 for one seems a lot. Their butter chicken and vindaloo and naan is REALLY good though. It's a little expensive for no table service though. I wish they had a soda fountain or at least free water. They only have bottled drinks including water - which makes it a thirsty affair. Overall would recommend though. Loss of star mostly for value vs cost and the drink situation. read more

I've been to several Indian restaurants here in VA and in other states. I think the first big difference is Rajput is not overly spicy, which you may or may not like. I think it's just spicy enough to get a taste of Indian but not be scary. If you've ever wanted to try Indian but weren't sure about this spice, this is a great first step. I like the build your own option because you can try different things and it's fast. The portion size isn't huge though, for the price (around $15 for me) it could be disappointing but it was plenty for me at lunch. The inside is clean and looks nicely decorated. The staff seemed to be in training a bit so it was a little unorganized but I understand that because they just opened. I work near the Chesapeake location so it was very convenient. We tried the curry bowel and thali platter. Foods were good unfortunately the portion size is too small for the price you paid. I hope they will change that, otherwise I doubt anyone willing to pay $17-18 dollars for lunch and not full. read more

I wish I had taken a picture before I devoured everything! This place is absolutely amazing and the service is excellent! The portions are perfect enough for just a little bit of leftovers. The spice level is of your choice between 1-5, and 3 is very spicy for those who are sensitive to it. I've already eaten here three times and it's the best Indian cuisine I've found in the area. It reminds me of back home in Jersey where the Indian cuisine was incredible. 100% recommend! read more

Food was excellent. Best Indian we have had since moving. We ordered delivery and everything was delivered promptly and was still warm!

The ordering system is confusing, as you are supposed to order some things ahead beside the curry bowl or wrap, but since they just opened they will surely change that. I waited in line about 25 minutes due to the ordering procedure confusion, and they only had 2 people doing everything. The samosas were the best I've ever had! That was their saving grace, since the chicken bowl was 13.95 and didn't even come with naan which is sold separately. The tikka masala was okay and veggies were okay. They were a little bland, and overall they're prices are expensive for what you get. We would have been better off going to Rasoi or Nawab for what we paid. I will be going back for the samosas though! read more

My first time in Rajput eats. I usually go to norfolk location which is also good but I wanted to try something different. The guy on the front helped me with the different options they had. I had a thali. I had a butter chicken amd lamb kebab and bunch of topings and salad. I was not sure how it would taste but when i tried it was amazing. Quite not an authentic indian food as in norfolk but is quite unique. The vibe was nice. You can seat yourself anywhere and every thing you need are right near the door. My family and I went here on 5/7 to use the offer and as much as I love trying new things, I felt scammed. We got two platters that contained butter chicken, rice, veggie curry, etc. When we went to pay we wanted to use the offer but there's a catch. On yelp it says $5 for BOTH the mango lassis and naan bread. In reality you have to BUY either the naan or the lassie to get the other. It's a complete scam of the whole offer. It really downgrades the whole experience. No point in using the offer or coming here. Also, the menu was super confusing and hard to understand. read more

Wow this food hit different at 9pm on a weeknight......thank you to the kind woman who was so patient with me while I ordered over the phone as I wasn't familiar with the menu and stumbled over the MANY delicious choices available. I have visited this place for a few times now. The food is great and owner is also welcoming.

My food was okay. It wasn't terrible, it wasn't amazing-- just ok. The curry was lacking flavor and so much spice. I guess they are trying to appeal to more people by not adding much spice but I feel like there should have been one option for a spicy curry. And the add ons they suggested for more spice are not enough. Paying $15 for a bowl of semi bland Indian food is disappointing. read more

I've been to Rajput in Norfolk so I was excited for them opening this little joint. They were really busy when we were in there, but they took their time to walk everyone through the food options, including me. I had the chicken curry platter , mixed veggies , cucumber salad, and chickpeas . She suggested a really yummy sauce (I can't remember the name). I can't wait to try more options ! I've heard how good their food is, however I didn't have an opportunity to taste it. There was a couple in front of us who couldn't make up their minds, but we're actually taking samples of the food. Finally, the woman hostess went to the back to do something with their order. We stood there for nearly 15 mins awaiting acknowledgment or even "I'll be with you soon." So, we simply shook our heads and headed out the door and headed over to Cava where we were promptly served. If you're looking for quick service at this Rajput, look elsewhere. read more
