I have always been there for dinner, but they also have lunch time buffet (for 90 HKD!) which is probably the best value for money you can get around this area. The place isn't really fancy; it's a wide open space with a ton of tables - pick the ones close to the window; they don't have tables for two. In fact, they're big enough to accommodate for 5 people and, what's more important, for the procession of dishes that you may end up ordering. They have a delivery menu that you can check online and a la carte menu, which is the one I know, and I can almost recite from memory. From what I've tried I would highly recommend any of their chicken dishes (especially Makhani, Korma or Vindaloo). They normally come as mildly spicy and you should ask them to spice your dish up or down. The chicken meat always comes very tender and flavorsome (I haven't experienced the same thing with mutton for example). As a starter, you can't miss the Saag Paneer. It may be a little pricey for an appetizer or side dish (around 70 HKD) but it is absolutely worth it. It's the best one I've tried so far. A dinner for two can cost around 250 HKD, service charge included (but not drinks) which is a pretty good deal!

Conveniently located in Wan Chai, this restaurant serves up a large menu of vegetarian delights, which will have even the most carnivorous of us satisfied. I personally am a fan of the vegetable shish kebab, a "kofta" made with minced vegetables and baked in the tandoor, the tikka paneer, and the dum aloo. All these dishes hover around the HKD60 mark, and are quite reasonable in size, so you will probably find your bill quite low. What is particularly good about this venue is that it is completely vegetarian, so you don't have to do the song and dance of, "can I have this, but without the bacon" or "is the stock made with chicken". And despite it being vegetarian, the food, being Indian, is very tasty and in some cases quite spicy! My only issue with the food, is that it can be a bit greasy. Everything seems to be liberally coated in vegetable oil, so just be wary. The venue itself is a bit like a canteen, with its bright fluorescent strip lighting, plastic tables (at least with table clothes I suppose), and school chairs. It could also do with having a good scrub and a lick of paint. However, I suppose we come for the food after all. The service is great, the staff are attentive and friendly, but there only seems to ever be one wait staff on. I do tend to come during the day when it is quieter and there aren't so many folks about, so I hope they add more wait staff in the evening when it gets busier. Having said that, the few evening times I have come, it never gets that busy, so you could probably turn up without a booking.

If you are looking for a place that won't bombard you like the restaurants, and the people trying to market them, in the TST area (you should know what I am talking about) come here, get your fill of what type (as there are many) curry you want, these people have been around, it's a comfortable environment, not too fancy, but not too cliche as well. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, and the menu is vast. If I am in HK again, I would come back here to nail my fix of curry.

All I know is that whenever you're done your drinks, one guy will magically appear and ask you if he can get anything else. Once in awhile, he throws in a free round.
