what is wrong with this bank? I tried to get help with my account and got no response back. I called them on the phone and went in person nothing happened no calls back and nothing about any updates. There is a lack of communication within RAIZ also. Like the different departments don't communicate with each other or something. Just keep me wait for an hour for nothing kept talking to different departments and got no answer from anyone. I felt like they were just rushing me out the door and they made like I'm stupid and don't matter. Even laughing at me at one point. One of the worse service I ever gotten and it been a few weeks already still have not heard back from anyone. Even tired to email them and still nothing. Nobody helps from this bank. They did nothing to help me. Would give them a zero star. I wouldn't advise anyone to bank here the treat customers like crap. read more

I know Raiz credit union is used to seeing their reviews on Google however I don't have an Google account. I have been with El Paso Teachers Federal credit Union for almost 50 years and when it transitioned to RAIZ federal credit Union, I was concerned because I didn't think the service could be improved upon. I was wrong. I found out Raiz had a special 7% CD and myself, family and friends made several deposits for the higher. I returned for a much higher CD investment for 4.7% for one year. No institution in El Paso offers anything close to Raiz' offerings. . Beatrice Estrada was extremely patient, professional, instructIve and exhibited friendly customer service. Incompetent teller. Uncaring staff. Jesus Lopez is both an incompetent and uncaring branch manager. I went to deposit a check from my insurance company. The teller told to simply deposit the check through the atm and after a 5 day hold the moneys will be available. A few hours later I receive a call telling me the check will be returned Raiz has no idea how long this will take. All because I am missing an endorsement signature from my mortgage which a should have told about by the teller before I ever deposited my check. Now I am stuck with a leaky roof. I've been a happy client since ot used to be Golden Key fcu..Took out a loan last year to buy an suv..I make my mortgage and said loan payments when I do my mortgage monthly so this month(Jan)all of a sudden I'm getting msgs about a late car payment..In all the years of having multiple loans I've never ever been delinquent on ANY of them..Went to the Kenworthy brach to address the issue..Discovered RAIZ made the mistake and charged me 275.00 to clear my account..The payment isn't the issue..They made me feel as if it were my fault for their mistake..I do Apologize for cussing out the gentleman that was assisting me but this mistake of theirs is unacceptable and cost them a reliable client after this loan is finished.. read more

Once again, Raiz is getting worse. Not only do I not get texts or emails about my account. I try so hard not to overdraft but with a one income household and the pay not being that great now they will close my account if I don't deposit eight dollars and now two dollars. So now I have to go and deposit $2.76 just to keep my account open. I wonder what they do with the elderly and how they might and could treat them. I would love to leave but I have checked other banks and they all have the same policy. I just wish they would communicate with me about my account. I don't do things on purpose things in life happen that can't be helped, just wish they'd show a little compassion but I know that will never happen. read more

I just closed my account with Raiz. The only reason I had an account with them was because they financed a vehicle for me. I had been trying to access my account through their website. The website is not user-friendly. The chat feature simply tells the user to call the branch. Why have a chat feature? Well, my most recent statement provides a balance of what I have available, which, for the sake of argument, let's say it was $1000. When I got through to a human, I was told that my balance was $995 because I've been getting charged $5.00 to keep my account active. So, I asked the young lady, who was very nice and professional on the phone, to close my account. She advised me that if I want to have the check mailed to me - there will be a $10 fee. So, I asked her if I could pick it up. She's advised me that if I pick it up, it will be a $10 fee. So, this "credit union" has been charging me these fees for nothing more than holding my money and probably using it. I understand they have to make money somehow, but this is ridiculous. I'm just happy I belong to USAA and Navy Federal. Despite some negative press, all I can say is that both USAA and Navy Federal have provided me with outstanding service. I will never do business with this organization again. I'm fortunate that I have other options and other means. I like to support local businesses when I can, but it has usually resulted in situations like this in the long run. read more

Raiz is Horrible, Don't bank here. Since their system upgrade, I've heard excuse after excuse. A particular Friday- I went in to make a withdrawal from my account. After waiting 45 minutes in line at the drive-thru in 109-degree weather I get to the teller and she tells me the "internet" is down. She can take my cash deposit but to get any money back I have to go into the ATM. Go in and guess what the ATM is down too. The stupid lady goes on to tell me that I will have to come back the next day to make any withdrawals to my account. This has been happening over the last week and they don't know when the system will be going down or coming back up for that matter. She says this is why you shouldn't keep all your $$ at the same bank so you have other options. Seriously? Why wouldn't you have someone outside telling people don't wait in line because we can't support them? She said it was too hot. Um ok; not hot for us waiting in our cars. Yesterday I made a mobile deposit and never received any kind of notification. I went in and saw the daily allowance was reduced by the exact amount of deposit I just made. Today I log in to my bank and my deposit is still not reflected. 2 hours after talking to 3 people (2 of which claimed to be managers) I got there was a glitch in the system; you have to wait yet another day for the deposit to be posted as it was just processed today. Why? It was a glitch. What glitch who is responsible? The resolution was to come into a bank and make the physical deposit for it to post quickly. You guys are a joke truly. I have 2 car payments with you and you will literally only get that payment from now until I can find a solution to get those accounts out of your bank. My 90-year-old mom insists on banking here, but you can NEVER just call and talk to someone. If you go in the branch they are very friendly and helpful, then they give you their card to call them for a follow-up or to finish the transaction, and just try to reach someone it's ridiculous!! We have had to go in for every little thing that could quickly be fixed over the phone if the bank officers would just give you their direct number or even the branch number! read more

Went to open an account with my daughter. They declined me because in their system they said I made a loan with GOLDEN BANK., located MORNING SIDE MALL.on or around 1978. That was 45 years ago. I asked for information to see signature and paper work that they may have in micro film or chip and they couldn't provide one. I am very adamant I DID NOT make this loan. It's their word against mine but they can't prove it to me. It's not in my credit report but in if I had known about it back then, i would've acted on it. We didn't have the technology we have today to check on our credit. If you the type of person that cares about your credit., believe me i would've remembered borrowing this money. They said i borrowed 3500.00. I did NOT have that kind of income to qualify for that big of a loan back then . I have Chase and I'm SO HAPPY with them. Been a member of Chase since 2000. This is a shameful establishment that calls themselves a "credit union". RAIZ is a joke. Don't bank there. They collected truck payments for months and then turned around and said they do not know where the payments were sent and proceeded to tow my truck. I went in person, took my copies of the payments that were made and they still said they did not know where those payments were. I had to pay $3000 to get my truck back. No including the additional $750 at the towing agency. Now that this happened to me, I find out I'm not the only victim. I'm refinancing my auto loan elsewhere. If it were possible, id give TFCU a negative star rating. They NEVER fail to help themselves at the customer's expense. NEVER. Their rules change as they see fit in order to get more money, for instance, returning checks when i gave a positive balance until it goes negative and then running them all back through and collecting return fees plus overdraft fees. I have been banking with them for over 20 years and had issues all the time. Since the "name change" things have gotten worse. Which honestly I didn't think it was possible. Now with the new system my truck payment was sent to me via check because the system will not pay to GECU. I've had to cover late fees due to the incompetence of RAIZ. Now I pay extra for GECU to just pull from my account instead due to lack of trust in RAIZ. Every time I try to make a change in the bill pay I get hit with errors. Now as I'm adjusting payment schedules to best help us pay for our daughters treatments and infusions, I cant yet again make changes due to yet more system errors. This facility has become a joke, no tellers willing to help (the ONE that may be available). Wait in the branch has been up to 2 hours. All to be told "Oh I don't know what's going on its best if you just make payments direct and pay the transaction fees do you need checks?" stay away Personalized banking, honorable and user friendly is NOT something this entity can do nor handle.
