After being referred to Dr. Raissi Abbas for a root canal, I honestly couldn't have had a better experience. I was in a lot of pain and worried about how long it would take to be seen, but his office got me in right away. From the moment I arrived, everyone was kind, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Abbas has a very calm and reassuring manner that immediately helped ease my nerves. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered my questions, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Even though no one looks forward to a root canal, he made the experience far easier than I ever expected. The treatment went smoothly, and the relief was almost immediate. Dr. Raissi and and his entire staff did a really superb job and we're wonderful to work with Spare you all the details but my dentist was really concerned that my top front tooth was not salvageable, but Dr. Raissi performed the miracle (lots of experience training and hard-working great up-to-date technology in the office extremely impressive )and made it happen so I do not have to get an implant. I am so grateful. Add to that the medical facility campus in Gilroy neighborhood is just beautiful - Looks like a resort all the trees and beautiful flower plantings first class top to bottom. The office itself is very nicely appointed the bathroom is really nice He even had a CT machine so he could scan me and it was a very fair price. additionally the 90 minute quote went into a full two hours and he stuck with the quote and didn't charge me for the extra time for which I'm very grateful as well. 61 and never had a root canal. I have had probably 8-10 crowns, though. I can tell you, the process of going to Dr. Abbas for a root canal is NOTHING compared to getting a crown prep, going home for a week with a fake acrylic tooth on your ground down real tooth,-- that is sensitive to everything-- and then, having to get numb all over again to get a crown fitted on. People complain about root canals like they are a death sentence. (wut?) Just get the root canal done, already! He and his staff are very professional. He is no-nonsense, and low on the chit-chat (unless you chat), which you want when someone is dong something this precise and serious. He asked me a few times how I was doing, and warned me about a couple of things that some people find uncomfortable, but in my case, I was lucky, I didn't feel any pain. Now it has been about 5 days and I did not even think about it for the last 2 days or so... completely forgot I had it done, and thank god I did, because my tooth has been bothering me on and off for a year, trying various things to "avoid a root canal". I was referred to Dr. Raissi by my dentist in Hollister. I have had several root canals done in the past years. This office, and staff, which was one, plus the Dr. were top notch. From walking in the door, to having the procedure done, it was a good experience. Of course, the cost was the most painful. Keeping a tooth is the necessary thing. My compliments to this office. I was referred to Dr. Raissi by my Dentist after I previously had a crown replacement done in 2009 and continued to have problems with the same root canal that was originally done in 1996 in San Jose. Dr. Raissi was very informative, compassionate and listened as I explained my pain. After Xrays, he said that the root canal not only was not done properly but the original Dr. left a tool in my root area. I had a horrible infection.He treated the infection first, reworked the root canal saving my current crown by microscopic work, and then finished the work sealing the crown. I cannot say enough about Dr, his staff and the office in general. They are amazing. Dr Raissi's knowledge and professionalism and his compassion is most noted.I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Raissi. read more

Dr. Raissi is the consummate professional. Friendly service and stands behind his work. I've had two root canals done here now and both times it was pain free, quick, and flawless. Dr. Raissi is a specialist (endodontist) and his skill in his chosen specialization is clear to see. I was referred to Dr. Raissi by my regular dentist who only gives referrals to professionals he trusts and it is very easy to see why he chose Dr. Raissi. If you end up coming here for a procedure rest assured you are in good hands. Unlike in other reviews I have seen here, I have never found even the slightest hint of deception or even lack of notice for any part of a procedure or the associated fee. Dr. Raissi only uses the best materials and the most effective diagnostics for his work. He is friendly and so is all of his staff. I was sent to Dr. Raissi by my dentist to check to see if my tooth could be saved because it had a crack. Dr. Raissi took his time examining and used his 3D X-ray (very cool) to tell me that it could be saved. The root canal went easier than my cleaning appointment. I am very grateful to Dr. Raissi for saving my tooth. I hope I don't need another root canal but if I ever do, I will go back to him. read more

Rude and abrupt! Went in for consultation for a root canal for my 11 year old son after an injury/fall and damage to his front tooth. His dentist referred us to this guy for a root canal. Dr. Abbas made no effort to make anyone comfortable. He didn't introduce himself, he didn't address my son. Absolutely no personality! He did a quick exam and said "yeah the root is dying, he needs a root canal...any questions". When I did ask a question I got a short abrupt answer. Very belittling. He couldn't leave the room fast enough. He spent maybe 6 minutes with us and then rushed out. I do not recommend this guy for adults, much less children! We left his office and went to Dr. Arita in MH. What a huge difference! Dr. Arita was friendly and made my son feel comfortable. He took his time and explained the procedure and happily answered all questions without being demeaning. Don't waste your time with Dr. Abbas. Horrible experience. I'm forced to give the lowest of 1 star but he doesn't even deserve that!!! read more
