I went to 3 different dentists, two of whom looked at the x-rays and said it was too difficult for them ( the canal was calcified and very hard to see ) I was then referred to the third dentist who specialized in root canals. He started the procedure and got to a point where he was not confident to continue. A friend highly recommended Dr Eguchi so I went to him. He was great. A very nice man who genuinely cares about his patients. Very thorough and explained all the options to me very clearly. The procedure was completely pain free. His office staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to find time for me.

My experience with both the Doctor and his staff was exceptional - not just in their professionalism, but the respectful and compassionate care I received, during a time of covid stress and personal challenges. Dr. Tayebaty did a thorough examination and was absolutely clear and frank about the possible outcome - only a fifty percent chance of the root canal being successful. I subsequently asked the director of Dientes in Santa Cruz (who had referred me to him and was familiar with his results) what she would do in my situation, and she replied emphatically, and without hesitation, that she would have him try to save my tooth. Dr. Tayebaty was exceptionally present and exacting in his work, and reassured me by answering my various questions before we started. Despite my profound stress, I found the procedure surprisingly smooth and unhurried (the way a root canal could be in the hands of a master practitioner like Dr. Tayebaty). It is now seven months later, and so far so good. We are truly fortunate to access to such excellent care in our community (at comparably reasonable rates), and I absolutely recommend Dr. Tayebaty to anyone in need of a root canal and related procedures.

This new issue was a genuine mystery -- I was experiencing some dull pain but had a heck of a time localizing it. Dr Cross is absolutely phenomenal -- he patiently helped test it over a series of multiple visits (of which he didn't charge extra) just to ensure that we had really really REALLY localized the correct tooth. That part is really important so I want to reiterate it: he didn't rush into operating on a tooth. He took appropriate time to really determine what was going on. It was clear to me that he cared about the quality of the diagnosis AND the work itself. That means so much to me and demonstrates a strong sense of integrity and professionalism that words can't fully express. Additionally, the office was able to patiently schedule me in for a timely visit next day instead of making me wait a lengthy time. My review is about the first series of visits to the office and the final visit for my daughters orthodontics treatment. When we arrived at the office, the waiting room was clean and had plenty of magazines to read. The waiting room even had a little toy to keep the younger kids occupied which I guess is good, but the small toddlers sure can make some noise. Signing in and registering with the office was a piece of cake. Basic forms and disclosures and the staff was very friendly in explaining some of the things that I wasn't too familiar with. We waiting there for only about 5 mins after filling out the form until my name was called. My daughter was called a couple mins later as I saw her in the station next to me. Dr Hong came and introduced himself to me and asked the basic questions to understand what my previous history was. I take good care of my teeth, but probably should floss more often. I also had braces about 10 year ago so I value having pain free and good looking teeth. Once the interview was over, Dr Hong started to check and clean my teeth. I thought that was great since most dentist offices you go into these days have some sort of hygienist do it. I was finished with my interview, check up and cleaning within 30 mins. The best thing is that the whole thing was painless, quick and my teeth and mouth felt great! My daughter had the same experience, but she was recommended to get braces which for a teenage girl is not good news. The good news about the recommended ortho treatment was that it would only take one year. During the year, she went into the office to get her bands replaced and all other things that the Dr needs to do to move those teeth around her mouth. Today was the one year mark and she got her braces off. Her teeth are straight and very beautiful now. During the course of the treatment she did have some issues with the wires digging into her check and lips, but those were solved by quick visits to the office, but over all she was very happy with the end result. The best part of all of this was that Freedom Dentals prices were very reasonable compared to other offices we got estimates from. As you can tell from the review I am very satisfied with the work that Dr Hong and his staff performed on my family. I will continue to make the long drive from Hollister to Watsonville to have him care for our teeth. The only thing I wish the office had was Wi-Fi access in the waiting room.

Then He poked around the gum line and told me that I had a broken root. I asked for pain medication to hold me over until I could get it extracted and was denied. He offered antibiotics, and I said yes, (I didn't know it was infected). So I am allergic to 4 antibiotics. He prescribed one of those four. I went back into the office within 5 minutes and he was gone. I will be looking for another dentist. He does not care anymore.
