We were recommended to Dr Hong from a close friend. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to travel all the way to Watsonville from Hollister, but decided to give this dentist a try. My review is about the first series of visits to the office and the final visit for my daughters orthodontics treatment. When we arrived at the office, the waiting room was clean and had plenty of magazines to read. The waiting room even had a little toy to keep the younger kids occupied which I guess is good, but the small toddlers sure can make some noise. Signing in and registering with the office was a piece of cake. Basic forms and disclosures and the staff was very friendly in explaining some of the things that I wasn't too familiar with. We waiting there for only about 5 mins after filling out the form until my name was called. My daughter was called a couple mins later as I saw her in the station next to me. Dr Hong came and introduced himself to me and asked the basic questions to understand what my previous history was. I take good care of my teeth, but probably should floss more often. I also had braces about 10 year ago so I value having pain free and good looking teeth. Once the interview was over, Dr Hong started to check and clean my teeth. I thought that was great since most dentist offices you go into these days have some sort of hygienist do it. I was finished with my interview, check up and cleaning within 30 mins. The best thing is that the whole thing was painless, quick and my teeth and mouth felt great! My daughter had the same experience, but she was recommended to get braces which for a teenage girl is not good news. The good news about the recommended ortho treatment was that it would only take one year. During the year, she went into the office to get her bands replaced and all other things that the Dr needs to do to move those teeth around her mouth. Today was the one year mark and she got her braces off. Her teeth are straight and very beautiful now. During the course of the treatment she did have some issues with the wires digging into her check and lips, but those were solved by quick visits to the office, but over all she was very happy with the end result. The best part of all of this was that Freedom Dentals prices were very reasonable compared to other offices we got estimates from. As you can tell from the review I am very satisfied with the work that Dr Hong and his staff performed on my family. I will continue to make the long drive from Hollister to Watsonville to have him care for our teeth. The only thing I wish the office had was Wi-Fi access in the waiting room. read more

I have been going to Freedom Dental for years, over 20 years. I called today with a very painful tooth. He fit me in, and I was x rayed. Then He poked around the gum line and told me that I had a broken root. I asked for pain medication to hold me over until I could get it extracted and was denied. He offered antibiotics, and I said yes, (I didn't know it was infected). So I am allergic to 4 antibiotics. He prescribed one of those four. I went back into the office within 5 minutes and he was gone. I will be looking for another dentist. He does not care anymore. read more

I was recommended this office by a friend and I am so happy we decided to come! My mom had a bad experience with another dentist, which is why we were looking for a new office. They were accommodating about the fact that my mom wanted me to be there with her during the exam with the Doctor, they let me explain to them what treatment my mom had previously, and they were very nice! Even the receptionists were very nice! I'm happy we found this place! The dentist also listened to all of my Moms concerns, which made me very happy after what she went through at the previous office. read more

I was referred by a friend here to do a root canal treatment. The staff are nice and friendly here. The doctor is really professional and finished my treatment within two hours without any discomfort and pain. read more

Dr. Hong is probably the most unprofessional dentist ever. At first, he was my general dentist and did a decent job at best for routine services(dental cleanings, tooth extractions, etc.). He had his assistants do the majority of the work, and they clearly lacked experience often stopping the procedure to ask Dr. Hong for assistance. The real issue developed when I decided to get braces. When I asked him for a referral to an orthodontist, he told me he was capable of applying dental braces. Keep in mind he is not an orthodontist, but a general dentist. Foolishly, I agreed and two years later my teeth looked the same. When we confronted Dr. Hong about our dissatisfaction with his work, he said there wasn't much he could do and would not issue a refund or reach an agreement. I then went to an actual orthodontist and he too was shocked by the poor results. The orthodontist claimed that the ineffectiveness was due to poor positioning of brackets and other incorrect orthodontist techniques. Two years later, I finally got the smile I expected thanks to a REAL orthodontist who did an excellent job. This just goes to show the quality of person Dr. Hong is and how it is expressed in his profession. Please learn from my mistake and don't trust this dentist as it is clear that he is in it for the money and not the patient's health. PS Don't be fooled by the UCLA degree in the waiting room(if it's still there). As a Bruin myself, he makes the institution look bad. read more

So this office was recommended to me. The staff is nice and helpful. When we have an appointment time we are seen right away and don't ever have to wait to long. My 10yr old daughter needed a root canal done. My daughter loved Dr. Hong and felt comfortable and safe with him working on her teeth. So now my husband and I started going to him as well, and I can say that we really like him as well. He's very gentle and does great work. We are very happy with his services. read more

These people are amazing. They were able to see me ASAP. The staff is kind and friendly! They couldn't do the require treatment since my tooth were really bad but they were kind to refer me to one that can. I'm returning to get fillings! It's nice to finally meet a dentist who was willing to see me at such a short notice. read more

I would honestly give this dental clinic a zero if I could. Number one, they charged me $150 dollars for poorly done x-rays. The clamps they put in your mouth taste of soap. After my x-ray , I was then told to sit in a chair and wait for the "dentist" didn't quite catch his name , we'll because he didn't introduce himself . He then proceeded to BANG on my teeth with a tool, UM , ya what?? That is so unprofessional , I have never had a dentist do something so absurd and painful and WRONG. Needless to say I wouldn't dare let this man or his staff touch my teeth ever again. I walked out before they could clean them ! Thank god . Save your money and go else where . read more

Freedom Dental hours on the website is wrong. They are not open from 8am-6pm; It is actually 9am-5pm and they are closed on Thursdays and weekends. The dentist and hygienist are great but the customer service from the front office staff is poor. They lost my paperwork and made me wait for my items for months. The bad part is they never admitted to losing my paperwork. I called and stopped by multiple times and they kept failing to follow up with a response. I'm very disappointed with this office. read more

Been here twice. Best dental visits in all of my 35 years of life! I came initially for an extraction. I had no pain at all during or after the procedure. I was in and out in 45 mins. I was a new patient so there were x-rays, paperwork, cleaning and the extraction. Excellent visit! read more
