The order was ready in about 15 minutes and was piping hot when we left. First off, the clam strips were delicious! There were good size clams and the portion was generous.. The tarter and bbq sauces were very good too; however they were not needed for the strips. The walleye and shrimp were equally good. Again, I liked the shrimp without sauce because the batter was tasty on its own. Even the fries were solid; that's the vessel I used to eat the tater and bbq sauces! If I were in the neighborhood I would stop by for the clam strips a la carte and try their coleslaw.

I refused to try it-I already have my favorites and there was no way that this place could compare, no way. 20 years later and in memory of my old co worker I thought I'd give it a try. UPDATE: I have a new favorite Chinese restaurant. I didn't know!! It's a pickup only now, but the inside of the restaurant is so nice. I missed out on that experience. The lady who took my order was awesome, she asked me how long before I got there and she timed it perfect. I made some friends in the little pick up area, who had been eating there for years. And when I got to work another co worker told me it was one of his family traditions to eat there when he was a kid. I didn't know!!! First, I ordered the Mongolian beef, my go to no matter where I go. That was my measure of whether I'd be back or not. I also ordered pan fried noodles-I prefer that with the Mongolian beef instead of rice. And I ordered a couple egg rolls. It was so good, flavorful, great portion, I enjoyed it. I made a mistake ordering egg rolls......... I ordered two and should've ordered 4. Not because they were small but because I didn't want to stop eating them. I will go back and re write my review if something changes but for now I encourage everyone to hit this locally owned restaurant that has been there for 32 years.

It was called The Big Time Burger. And believe you me, it was named appropriately!!! High quality beef, mushrooms, onions and cheese...all cooked to perfection. The appetizers are also good, but you will need to share as the burgers are MASSIVE! The Wife had the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich with Parmesan fries. It was huge and had the best taste and flavor to it. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited for the food. The place was pleasantly busy and had a good vibe. This place definitely did not disappoint. The prices were reasonable and service was good as well. Great burgers, unique drink and appetizer selection, and friendly staff,( especially Julian and Eli), make this a must visit if you're anywhere near Portage, Indiana! I'm so glad that I live near this place!
