In a world full of Chaps, 10 Gallon hats, and people who look at you like you are a fruit loop for…read moreputting that "sissy" saddle on your horse, this place is an Oasis!! Yes, it truly is an ENGLISH riding/show stable, where I have yet to meet one person who has a western saddle of any type, not that there is anything wrong with western, only the western people who criticize those of us who follow a different beat.. There are 3 trainers who's specialties include equitation, dressage, hunters, jumpers...etc. The barn is kept IMPECCABLY clean, even the kids there clean up after themselves and their ponies. There is a beautiful indoor arena, complete with mirrors in some places so you can check your "seat." A hunt course outdoors that has the size worthy of being called a hunt course, and also a nice dressage arena located just beside the hunt course. They also host clinics with some really great clinicians and occasionally host shows. The wash stall has hot and cold running water, and is located IN the barn away from the dirt so your newly washed horse stays CLEAN. The barn owner is also a horse person and she really cares about each and every person and animal who boards there. Everybody I have met there has been friendly and helpful. The kids are very well mannered, in fact they are the best group of kids I have encountered at any stable ever. This is definitely what I am used to, being from the Cappo area of Orange County. The only thing missing that i think is essential, especially in a cold weather state, is a hot walker....but that's it, and really...hot walkers are for the lazy, right??

I would come back here to stay in a minute. The skies in this area are beautiful and huge. The horizons are clear, with very few trees to obstruct the view. Every single night we had amazing skies, whether on account of storms you could see building for miles away, or clear skies that were so very dark and starry. This area is pretty remote; there is not much in the way of towns unless you want to drive about 40 miles, and no light domes to disturb the viewing near the horizon. Note: there is no Wi-Fi here and cell phone connections may be problematic as well; one of our party has AT&T and had a very spotty connection, another of us had Verizon, and had good service there. I have T-Mobile and no service at all while at the ranch. Just something to be aware of. The facilities here are top notch. The kitchen is well-stocked with the amenities, but you should plan to bring your own food. This is a working ranch. Therefore, you can help the family with ranch duties, or you can horse back ride, or any number of other activities, such as fishing in the pond behind the lodge. Our hosts, Bobbie and Scott, were very cordial and attentive. They were perfect. I want them to get business because this place is so wonderful. As I said, I would come back here in a minute. I will have lots of fun memories of this place long into the future.
