After 7 years of sending my three daughters to dance here, we've noticed that the instruction of TDC has gone down dramatically. * Teachers rarely start class on time, and therefore rarely end on time as well. This is difficult when you have a 35-minute drive back home... after a 9:30 pm class... and your kids need to go to school in the morning... * From January to May, all the time in classes with a recital dance is spent on recital. As a former dancer myself, I realized that there needed to be more time spent on technique training. * Class sizes are too large! 35-40 girls in a class under one teacher is unacceptable. Period. The facilities were also lacking. The studios are extremely cramped (and they are not willing to renovate). The studios are either WAY TOO HOT or freezing cold. These are among many problems. -------- We pulled our kids out of TDC two years ago. It was hard to do so with all the friends they'd made, team bonds, and contracts. After 8 months of intense training and hard work (and THOUSANDS of dollars into their pockets for mandatory extra choreography classes and mandatory recreational gear) they cut my 5 year old daughter off of the team, for "bad behavior". There were no incident reports, I never had a teacher approach me after class, and I was absolutely stunned when I was informed. They pulled her in January, a week before what would have been her very first competition. This was one of my daughter's first learning experiences when it comes to peers. For a school dedicated to "teaching children", I think they failed miserably. 10/10 would not recommend.

We recently attended a child's birthday party at the Lincoln Children's Museum, and since it was…read moreheld after hours (5:30-7:30 p.m.), the museum was closed to the general public. While that time slot wasn't the most ideal for our family's schedule, having the museum almost entirely to ourselves was a huge perk. The kids rarely had to wait to use an exhibit, which made for a much more enjoyable experience than visiting during normal operating hours. Overall, the kids had a great time running from exhibit to exhibit, but I did find some of the museum's displays a little underwhelming. A number of the stations could benefit from clearer signage explaining what you're supposed to do. In several cases, it wasn't immediately obvious how an activity was meant to be used or what made it interactive. Some of the exhibits also feel like they're due for an update. Having visited both, I personally think the Omaha Children's Museum offers a wider variety of exhibits and more engaging hands-on experiences, but Lincoln's museum still provided plenty to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours. The birthday party area itself was pretty standard. It reminded me of a concession stand or cafeteria-style space with tables and chairs. The birthday family was able to decorate a gift table and bring in their own cake, but it didn't really feel like a space where you could create much of a themed party atmosphere. I'm not sure what the museum's decorating policies are, so that may have played a role. One thing that stood out was the lack of water for the adults. The kids had drinks, but there weren't bottled waters or even cups of water available for the parents. I had forgotten my water bottle and ended up filling one of the small paper cups at the drinking fountain, which wasn't my favorite option. The museum also made a couple of announcements over the PA system--one for dinner and another to let everyone know there were about 15 minutes left in the party--but they were so garbled that I couldn't understand either one. I only found out what had been said after talking to other parents. Even with the reduced noise level from having a private event, the announcements were difficult to make out. The building itself has an older feel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does show its age in places. Overall, the kids had a wonderful time, and that's ultimately what matters most. With some refreshed exhibits, clearer instructions at the activity stations, and a few improvements to the overall guest experience, I think the museum could be even better.

Pros, it's a spacious facility…read more Cons: The hours are too restricted, especially for shift workers. They would do better to offer a 24 hr option, even if it's only for certain categories of members, like doctors, nurses, first responders, and military personnel. They are charging a $39 processing fee and a $39 club enhancement fee, on top of the monthly fee. I declined to renew for these reasons. To renew, I would end up paying each of these TWICE this year. So that's an extra $160. on top of the membership dues. I was going to renew, even though the hours don't best suit my needs, but after seeing the additional fees I decided against it. They also want a photo copy of you driver's license, which is not a best practice.

Drawings all over the table and toys all over the place with not a child in sight. The fish tank had, had mold. As I was walking by, I saw a room that was recording with security cameras that when I had signed a safety contract had said nothing to do with that.
