After 7 years of sending my three daughters to dance here, we've noticed that the instruction of TDC has gone down dramatically. * Teachers rarely start class on time, and therefore rarely end on time as well. This is difficult when you have a 35-minute drive back home... after a 9:30 pm class... and your kids need to go to school in the morning... * From January to May, all the time in classes with a recital dance is spent on recital. As a former dancer myself, I realized that there needed to be more time spent on technique training. * Class sizes are too large! 35-40 girls in a class under one teacher is unacceptable. Period. The facilities were also lacking. The studios are extremely cramped (and they are not willing to renovate). The studios are either WAY TOO HOT or freezing cold. These are among many problems. -------- We pulled our kids out of TDC two years ago. It was hard to do so with all the friends they'd made, team bonds, and contracts. It was even more difficult write this review for a business we used to love. After 8 months of intense training and hard work (and THOUSANDS of dollars into their pockets for mandatory extra choreography classes and mandatory recreational gear) they cut my 5 year old daughter off of the team, for "bad behavior". There were no incident reports, I never had a teacher approach me after class, and I was absolutely stunned when I was informed. They pulled her in January, a week before what would have been her very first competition. This was one of my daughter's first learning experiences when it comes to peers. For a school dedicated to "teaching children", I think they failed miserably. 10/10 would not recommend.

I saw that they were enrolling soon and decided to email the owner right away for some more information. She responded very quickly and soon we went in to sign up. When you first start, Traci gives you a couple weeks to try it out just in case your child ends up not liking it. I thought that was great because, well, if you pay money for something and later your kid doesn't want to do it anymore, it's a waste! Our daughter, needless to say, LOVES ballet and tap! She also loves her teachers there. They are just so friendly and makes her feel at home whenever she comes in. It's a pretty small community here at this dance studio, not like the one closer to my house where I see so many kids come in and out of. I like the smaller classes, especially for Lia as she gets quite distracted sometimes. It helps her to learn in these small classes a lot better and she feel she has more one on one time.

Good dance studio gone mediocre…read more They have a great ballet program but it has been overwhelmed by lots of competition stuff, belly dancing and zumba classes. If you take the conservatory program you have access to good teachers and classes, but if you don't take all the different classes to do the conservatory program (they make you take modern but only 3 ballet? silly) then you are out of luck. It started out good, but seems to be a money making machine. The best part is that there is a professional ballet company that rehearses there, and I used to think they owned the school. Turns out you can still audition for the professional company's kids roles whether you take classes at this particular studio or not. Not the best choice if you want great training. I think it is too big and too easy to get lost in the noise here. Big machines move slow.

We went to our first class and my wife decided that it just wasn't for her, so I tried to cancel. I was told that I could only cancel by speaking to the owner. Ummm, okay. I tried to call the business owner, but she never got back to me. Eventually, someone at the front desk told me that she could cancel our membership, but that we'd still have to pay for the next month, because we missed the drop date. Keep in mind, we've taken ONE CLASS at this point. I explained that I thought that it was quite unreasonable to charge us $320 for ONE CLASS(!), so she told me I'd have to talk to the owner. You're never gonna believe this, but the owner hasn't responded to this day and so I paid $320 for my wife and I to take a single, quite lame dance lesson. Kudos to you Omaha School of Music and Dance. You sure conned me. This is how failing businesses conduct themselves and I can't wait to watch you go under.
