Took us for a good ride around the harbour and explained everything. Not a bad choice for a boat tour. They have smaller boats for about 30 odd people and they leave from pier 1 or 2 I believe. I would highly recommend you do a boat tour as it's a great way to see the city from the water.

The Hadag ferries take you from place to place along the Hamburg area of the Elbe river, from Landungsbrücken to Ottensen and a little further than that. These ferries are a wonderful way to see some of the harbor for on-a-budget tourists, as they essentially are bus-ships - they cost nothing more than a standard bus ride and make stops up and down the river at stations which are identical to bus stations. Great for sightseeing, but also a wonderfully efficient way to get from place to place along the elbe.

Also I feel the lack of an English translator made it even more boring for us as we did not know what we was passing. Only way we would of known is if we had downloaded the app but we did not know about this until after boarding and they advise to download from your hotel. I think they should get a translator on some of the tours or even provide headphones with a recorded tape.

The boat is fairly comfortable, the driver was very nice and the German part of his tour that I could understand was funny and informative. The audio guide was good for English, French, Spanish, and a dialect of Chinese. A map was also included in the mini-computer which was fun to look at. The tour itself is really interesting and this part of Hamburg is beautiful. I found this boat tour to be more interesting than the harbor tour.
