I have nothing but positive things to say about my child's time at LCS:…read more The staff were full of love and brought so much care and attention to my little one every day. All of the teachers/caregivers work very well as a team and take the time to get to know and love each of the children they look after and it really does show on the faces of the little ones attending the program. The learning curriculum is engaging for the kids and the communications with parents are frequent and clear . The Brightwheel app updates are amazing; seeing photos of my kid every day really brightened my mood. The physical space within the daycare is fun and inviting, with each classroom mocked up as a house or building in a neighborhood (hallway). I'd HIGHLY recommend this daycare to anyone in the Brookline/Boston area looking for somewhere their LO can socialize, exercise, learn, and grow in a safe and loving environment.

Both of my kids spent several years at LCSH, starting (for kid #1 at age 4, and kid #2 from 9…read moremonths). Between them, they passed through every classroom. There was not a single room that we (and they) didn't love! My son left for Kindergarten a year ago and my daughter is leaving now at age 3 to be closer to our home for pick-up/drop-off reasons. I'm so incredibly grateful we had LCSH to care for our children. First, the leadership. Lissy and Gladys are wonderful. They are experienced, kind, friendly, professional, and very responsive. They clearly love and know each one of the children and care for their staff. There is very little staff turnover, which both creates a very nice family atmosphere for the kids and speaks to Lissy and Gladys' leadership. When the pandemic hit, Lissy and Gladys did everything they could to keep the children safe while understanding the needs of working parents. I also have compared their tuition to many other places and they are very reasonable. Second, the staff! They are such wonderful people - my kids loved them all because they are warm, loving, and great educators. My son was fully ready for Kindergarten and my daughter has learned fine motor skills, sharing, listening, resolving conflicts, and fairness. Often teachers from previous years would see my daughter in the hallway and give her big hugs. It meant a lot to us that they felt surrounded by people who care. Third, the other programs. Lissy and Gladys keep things fresh by bringing in music teachers, having field days, sports, and many other activities. My daughter looked forward to every Thursday when Ms. Monica would come to her class and bring instruments for the kids to play and to dance. Finally, the community. The parents and other children are a lovely group of people. We are sad to leave LCSH, but grateful we have the memories. If you visit the school - especially Boylston street - it's not the most beautiful location. But don't judge based on that! The school itself is very nice and the teachers get the kids out and about to the local parks for sports, water parties in the summer, and playground fun. Ultimately, LCSH is a great place with people who truly care about kids and families.

Have used LCSH for my kids for years from infant through preK. I have had only good experiences and…read moregreat things to say. The infant and toddler room was safe, teachers communicate well, and are caring. The preschool room (2-3years) was also welcoming, caring teachers, and safe. They take the kids to activities like walks, local parks, and keep them safe. The best experience has been pre-K; They are really a comprehensive Pre K program, with 2 teachers / up to 20 kids, and incorporate reading, writing, science, math, field trips, park, library, swimming.. I have toured other pre-K's including expensive private preK's in newton. None of them were up to par with LCSH. LCSH is both quite affordable for its excellent location, and comprehensive. Diverse students are a plus. The other pre-K's including much more expensive private places like Bright Horizon's do not do field trips, swimming, theatre, yoga etc like LCSH incorporates....so, having toured a bunch of other pre-K I love LCSH the most.. Ms Sandra is the contact / local director and she is pretty busy I am sure responsive when needed. The teachers in Pre K have been also very responsive by the app every day, sharing photos, responding to your questions, etc. And accommodating for example I wanted privacy for bathroom for the kids/ dietary restrictions like gelatin etc they were always aware and made sure to follow the preferences. 10/10 recommend.

Our son has been at Little Corner Schoolhouse (Too location) for almost a year now. He started in…read morethe toddler room and has now moved up to he preschool room. He loves it there and therefore we love it there. The teachers do a great job updating the parent communication app (Brightwheel) and I love getting anywhere from 3-10 photos of him doing fun things throughout the day. A brief update of what they did for the day is also posted in the app. Both toddler and preschool teachers send out a monthly curriculum of the theme for the month and what the kids are learning. This is great because then we can reinforce the same themes at home. They mix it up with activities including periodic yoga and children's musicians. If I were to have any more "wants" it would be to go outside more. They do go on walks and to the playground almost daily, depending on weather. I'm all about outdoor time so I would have them out in a drizzle and even when it's cold -- but, this isn't an outdoor school, and they do spend a good amount of time outside. Other big plusses in my book are low teacher turnover and hours (6:30am-6:30pm). We usually do ~8:30am-6pm but it's nice that it's open earlier for those days when I have an early appointment or it's an exceptionally early wake up. It's a welcoming environment and I'm glad my son is happy to run in to play every day.

My older kids went there 5 years ago and when it was time to find someone to take care of our younger kid, we could not find anyone who would have replaced Meena. We live very far from the city now and that is the reason we were looking for another place. But, we worked with Meena and our little one also went to Loving and caring childcare. Meena has a big impact on our children and they always look for any excuse to go meet her. She loves and nurtures the kids like her own and my children were always happy and well cared for. We were in the wrong place and Janet took us across the street to view the smaller infants. We go on a tour with Janet. Seems to be great...kids singing....very structured....staff looked like they knew their roles. I wondered why the cribs weren't in a separate room and together with the noise. Also, I noticed they turn the lights out between 1 and 3 and allow everyone to sleep. I asked "can kids play with other ages, not just their group?" Answer was yes. They would do laundry for cloth diapers, but response was they hadn't done that in a while. Called a few days later...specifically for Janet. She never called back. Instead she had Jenny do it. Jenny told us there was no room available and to call back at end of September. Well, here's the thing. Most parents usually need care immediately and don't have time to wait weeks, if not months. Perhaps the response should've been...."sorry we have no room this semester." I have a feeling if we did call back, they'd say sorry please call back at the end of October. I have wonderings about how Janet handled the phone calls as well. What if a parent needed to speak with her directly concerning a safety issue with their child? Would she still make a college student call the parents back?

This 2 years old ability to love others and accept himself is on full display not only at Solbe, but also at the park, the supermarket, and on trips, where he greets everyone with a smile and a "Hello!" As parents, I am most grateful for : Solbe's nutrition system, the best in the US. Three meals a day, chefs prepare fresh, nutritious, and varied menus, allowing our young children to experience a wide variety of foods and get the most nutrition. So I can forgive myself when I serve him just chicken nuggets at dinner :) Furthermore, from such a young age, the teachers provide new art experiences every day. My son loves drawing, talking, singing, dancing, and running around--all of these activities are spontaneous and active. Thanks to Solbe, his brain, mind, and motor skills have developed remarkably, and most importantly, he seems very happy. So I can forgive myself when I let him watch TV before dinner time :) I am grateful to the teachers and staff who provide the world's best early education, nutrition, with a big love spirit and we truly appreciate their professionalism.
