I don't usually commend on hairdressers but somehow my experience in that salon compels me to do so. If I could give that hair salon a zero star rate, I would. It was one of the worst hairdressing experiences that I have ever had.
I went for a consultation with Summer in regards to my hair prior to my appointment and I believed that I was quite clear with what I wanted. I requested for medium ash blonde. Summer seemed to take on board what I had told her, gave me a price for the job (150 pounds which is quite a lot but heck, the store has such great reputation that I said it is worth it) and so we booked an appointment.
I am not exaggerating when I say that after 5 hours being in that hair salon, I looked at the mirror and my hair were grey! To my horror she had turned my hair to the closest that it can get to being white. I had asked for medium ash blond and I got Gandalf's hair!!! And to add insult to injury, Summer turns around and asks me if I like it! It almost felt surreal. Of course I stated that I did not and Summer reassured me that she will put another dye on top of that to change it, since I did not like it, and she almost went as far as suggesting that it was my hair's fault that they had turned grey. To cut a long story short, the store's manager had to come and have a look at my hair and try to recommend a way of correcting the colour. Nowhere through the whole process did anyone apologise and everyone was acting as what had happened was normal.
So, Summer went on to put a hair dye on top of my already quite damaged hair, due to them having been stripped of any natural colour ( I know that bleaching your hair is damaging but stripping it of all it's colour is another board game altogether). She then added insult to injury, by informing me that because my hair was grey underneath the dye ( referring to the incident as something that just happened and not something that she had caused), I would have to come back to the hair salon and have it re-dyed in a couple of weeks, with the extra cost of 40 pounds, because the hair dye normally does not last on hair that have been bleached to such a degree!
I was more than shocked by that experience! I was so taken aback that I could not even voice exactly how disappointing and frustrating this whole incident was. I am aware that this salon has a good reputation but honestly I can only wonder about how the hell they have gotten that reputation. It is not just the fact that the messed up my hair, which I would even be willing to get over, it is their whole attitude about it that truly shows how little they do value their costumers. From my personal experience, I would not recommend them to any of my friends. On the contrary, I tell everyone I know about my experience in there and verify it by showing them a picture of the Gandalf hair that I had to pay 150 pounds to get!
Needless to say that I did not go back for the second hair dye. I have since then gone to another hairdresser to dye my hair. I showed him the photo of my grey hair in order to explain to him why my hair was so damaged and he was appalled to say the least. As I have said before, I do not usually write reviews on hair salons but I felt that this story needs to be heard. read more
