In town for parents weekend and thought we would have a long wait on a Friday, but we walked right in and was able to order. Food is ordered at a cashier and then you seat yourself and get your own water. It was a nice warm day so we sat outside and enjoyed the patio for brunch. Our group had the French toast, burrito special for CSU students only, scrambled eggs with veggies, I was able to substitute a salad for the potatoes and my husband had the pesto BLT wrap. I didn't mind sharing, because this burrito is HUGE and I have limited self control when it comes to good food. The vegan version of this burrito has the option of tempeh or tofu. I've tried both, and personally I prefer the tofu because it mimics the texture of eggs really well. In exchange for sharing my burrito, I got to have some of my partner's coffee cake for dessert. It was moist, caramelized around the edges, and totally delectable. Rainbow is a great breakfast and lunch place for everybody. This is it. This is the one. I have officially found my favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. Came here in a Sunday mid-morning and half of our party had breakfast, other half had lunch. First, it's walk-up ordering, which is totally fine, and the line went fast despite how busy they were! I went with a BLT with tempeh instead of bacon. Plus a side salad with a lemony vinaigrette. We sat at the gorgeous outside seating, where there were ample tables, high tops, even games in the yard. We saw some pups, so it appears that the outdoor seating is dog friendly. A huge plus for us, as our pup comes almost everywhere with us. We got a food relatively quick, considering the place was packed. My sandwich was easily *the best* sandwich I have ever had. The house made pistachio pesto really took this item to another level. It pairs perfectly with the focaccia! The side salad was a great portion and the dressing tasted fresh and tangy. Some of the other folks I went with ordered the pumpkin bread French toast and it was a very substantial portion. They are as much as they could and couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. Very nice brunch on the patio during our Fort Collins visit the first week of June. Popular place! Big line to order but it went fast and host (owner?) walked the line twice with yummy homemade coffee cake treats for everyone. Nice touch. Within 15 minutes we ordered and received the gps device for our table so that server could deliver our meals and it was also just 15 minutes or so after ordering. Our spicy Bloody Mary's, Arnie Palmer's (tea-lemonade) and coffee drinks were all delicious as were our meals including the chicken-veg-rice stir fry, omelettes and skillet dishes. The garden patio is large, many picnic tables, shaded with mature trees and very relaxing. There's also a covered gazebo with bar-type seating and some fun yard games too. read more

This is likely, as it is for many, my favorite place to get breakfast in Fort Collins. I recently went for my first breakfast there since the pandemic. As others have noted, they have done some remodeling and changes to deal with the pandemic. In the past, you were seated and served. Now you order at the counter and are provided with a number where your food will be served. It seems that they rely heavily off paper menus to make your decisions which is not exactly the most eco-friendly but oh well and perhaps that will change. As a result, it's up to you as to what you prefer psychologically because once it gets to 9 AM and beyond, you are in for a long line to order your food as opposed to waiting for a table. Then, this is also leads to you needing to find a table. I did notice a group of people hoping a table would open up on the patio and their food arrived even and they said they preferred to wait even as there were plenty of tables to eat inside. You know, that kind of thing. The patio is, as always, an awesome place to eat. I ordered the Guacamole Omelette on my recent visit and it was delicious. The coffee is always great. The staff is also always super friendly. Just a great vibe at this restaurant that, on a beautiful morning, only continues to put you in the right spirit for the rest of the day! read more

This restaurant is my new favorite breakfast spot in Fort Collins. They recently just did a remodel and it is such a cute, happy place. The service was incredibly fast and the food was amazing (tons of vegan/vegetarian options). The employee who helped us said that the original owners have had the place since the 70's, that they are wonderful, kind people, and that they were actually on the line making food while we were there! The outdoor patio has a lot of seating and I noticed they also have a bunch of little garden boxes out there growing food for the restaurant! I had the sweet potato breakfast burrito with tofu scramble instead of eggs and our table shared the pumpkin bread French toast. The food came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered and was incredibly delicious, no complaints! The coffee was also really good and they now have an espresso machine too. read more

Extremely tasty and delicious. I loved everything we ordered. Parking is in the back behind the restaurant The banana bread french toast is delicious, satisfying and unique. This is now one of my top favorite foods I will be driving to Fort Collins to eat. I also got the breakfast burrito with sweet potato and cilantro crema and it was the nicest fork-and-knife burrito I have had in awhile. I am a huge fan of all ginger drinks and their hand crafted ginger soda was by far my most favorite one I have ever had. I am so inspired by it I came home and spent an hour googling how to make your own ginger syrup at home to try to recreate this. My husband got a basic breakfast with a side of the sweet potato latkes and they were definitely delicious The interior was surprisingly cozy. Cheerful colors and a casual environment that was not at all shabby. Just enough noise to be comfortable and not too loud. The service was ok. They forgot to bring us a spoon when I asked for one, and they forgot the to go boxes after saying they would get them. Granted it was very busy in there. The food being so good helped me stay calm about those mistakes but you might need to sort of be more forthright about what you need when you go. I cannot wait to return!! read more

I really wanted to give 5 stars because everything looked so good but the flavors just didn't hit. I could have used more of all the flavorings on my food and my wife agreed. I had the breakfast burrito with black beans and sweet potato's, it was huge, but not huge on flavor. I also got a side of pumpkin bread french toast, which I love you can get a reasonable side instead of a whole order, but again, it was kind of bland. The oat milk cappuccino was tasty. It was so easy to order takeout through the website and pick it up through their alley set-up! I appreciate that they seemed really organized, and employees were following covid health rules. I loved the Power Bowl #2. It had a great mix of veggie (carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, probably more I'm forgetting) and the sauce was delicious. Not cheap, but ohh so good. We had the special Benedict of the day which included real white cheddar sauce... Which was a nice change up from hollandaise. We also split an order of Thai Cashew stir fry with tofu and rice. This was perfect! We've been on our biking vacation for days now and this stir fry was a perfect source of veggies and other good food instead of more pancakes or waffles (which I do love and pick to only have a sugar crash in an hour or two. The wait was around 25 minutes ... they had a friendly staffer walk around offering coffee. When i asked for almond milk he didn't bat an eye, and within 3 minutes I was drinking my java. If you are ever in Fort Collins, make sure you stop here. We are typically early risers and when we are on a road trip, it's often hard to find a good local place to grab an early bite to eat (don't get me wrong, love brunch options but we like to be on the road before 10a) They opened at 7am, everyone who worked here was so nice and accommodating. The food was amazing. We had a burrito and huevos plate, both with their tofu option and house-made cashew cheese. I am not kidding when I say I was FULL afterward. We ate breakfast at around 7:30am, spent the whole day hiking RMNP and I didn't even think about food until 5pm that night. We made sure to grab some breakfast here again before we were on the road again for our 7 hour drive back home.... and guess what. We didn't even stop for lunch on the way back to Omaha because this place really holds you over. I can't believe it. I'm pretty impressed with Rainbow Restaurant. They have a focus on local and quality with a lot of the items are made in house. It's family run for something like over 40 years from the back to the front and I read in an article that the husband and wife team even met there as employees back in the day. I also love that not only is there bacon and eggs but lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Life should be about balance. I had their signature latke dish and it came with some really yummy house made pumpkin bread as well. The menu has lots of tips on it for family favs, employee and guest choices and such which is helpful. My service was great and I think I counted six servers on staff which was great. I know labor costs money but having enough people on staff to provide good service will get me to come back. And I'll willing to pay a little more for my meal when the food and the service is great. Too many places want to cut labor and over work staff which often results in a poor experience even though people are trying hard. Their location is great on the edge of Old Town with a small parking lot behind it and because of the two hour limitation often I've found street parking just a short walk away. read more

Being from Austin, these types of restaurants are in every corner so I'm used to it but it was a pleasant surprise to see in FOCO.
