This place is my go-to for all mini home improvements. They have everything from paint and flooring to window treatments. If they don't have a particular paint color, they will color match or even create custom colors. Being very picky about a grey for my house, they were able to customize the color to be exactly what I wanted. They have a very quick turn around on paint orders and are always very helpful. They also have an in-home decorator that will come by to help pick out paint colors/wallpaper to fit your style. Everything used in my house comes from Rainbow Paint and Decorating. Do not buy your paint at this store. The staff is rude and they are insanely expensive compared to other stores. Charged me $19.00 for a roll of Frog tape I could buy at any home improvement store for $9.00. When I returned it unused for a refund, I was told they don't give refunds. What?!?! When I asked where in the store they informed their customers of this policy, the attendant could not produce anything and proceeded to tell me it was stated on the receipt which was an outright lie. Only after I started to complain rather loudly did he agree to refund my money. Unbelievably, rude and inconsiderate! They don't have to worry about me ever shopping there again. There are way too many good paint stores in this town to be treated like that. read more

After Warren Buffet stole disabled employee pensions he has also reduced the paint quality. This is how he became rich. He is not a financial guru He's a thief. Wait and see how he sticks it to the private paint stores. I worked there 20 years, was disabled on the job .and he stole over half my promised pension. DO NOT GO INTO THIS STORE!!!! This is the first Yelp review I have ever written and If I could give this company negative stars I would. I chose to do business with Rainbow simply because they were the only store in Birmingham that sells Farrow and Ball paint. Jim the store owner (or manager, not sure) is a straight-up liar. He allowed me to purchase the Farrow & Ball paint knowing that I needed it within by a certain time frame and knowing that they didn't have it in stock. He informed me of this *AFTER* I had checked out. Upon seeing my reaction, Jim then guaranteed me that the paint would be in by 7:30 a.m. the next business day and that I would have it to my painter without any lost time. That was not the case. The paint never arrived at 7:30, at 8:30 I went to the store and demanded it be tracked, to then discover that the paint was not even coming that day. Jim did not care about my painter's hour and a half of wasted time, he did not care that I had wasted a pretty penny on two gallons of "designer" paint, he was unbothered and refused to admit that he had lied to me. He refused to issue me a refund as well. I had to dispute the charges with American Express... like every other customer this terrible business has swindled then refused to refund. What an embarrassment of a store. I will do everything in my power to make sure Farrow & Ball knows they need to find a new retailer for their paint. In the meantime, simply go across the street to Benjamin Moore - the guys there are so wonderful and will be glad to help you!! read more
