In one point the road is very high up with shear cliffs overlooking the vast Grand Staircase area. Getting there the road goes through a wooded area where you go up and up. I think the temperture went down 20 degrees at the top, It was a cool windy road. Also when they say there are free range cows, there are free range cows. We came around a windy bend and there stood a cow. The visitor center for the Staircase isnt very large but we could get our national monument stamp and look at a few of the displays. There isnt anywhere to stop along this road if you need to use a rest room. So plan ahead. There are plenty of places to stop for pictures.

Instead of having Emily's gourmet pancakes or waffles, which my husband loved, I requested egg whites and slice of whole wheat toast and iced coffee With nonfat milk! They provided all with a smile instead of an eye roll. Felt spoiled and grateful. Emily and Joe are loving parent to 3 sons and have a menagerie of indoor and outdoor farm pets! All adding to the charm of the place. The bedroom was small but comfortable and very clean. Parking is great. The best part was having conversations with this couple and learning how they juggle their many activities and responsibilities. They are awesome.

It's those things combined with the host, Jared, that created a lifetime memory-making stay at Annie's Bed & Breakfast. He cooked amazing breakfasts of all kinds of homemade treats. He was very knowledgeable about the area. He answered a myriad of questions from our group of Denver people who were in for a niece's wedding. Jared was accommodating in every respect.
