Rude.
I went in yesterday to drop off a comforter. There was no greeting, just the words "have you been here before" from the young Asian lady behind the counter. She seemed almost upset with me from the beginning. I said "yes". Then she said " last name". Given. Then she said "first name". Given. Then she typed a little and asked for my first name again, which I gave. "You're not in here", she replied. Granted, I don't use the cleaners that often, maybe once or twice a year, but I had taken bedding and suits to this specific cleaner in the past. Once in 2014, a couple of times in 2015, etc. So, when she said that I was not in her database, I simply relayed that info to her. To which she replied with "no, you haven't". So already we were off to a bad start. I tried to make light of the situation by explaining that it was a while ago, so I may no longer be on record, and get this...SHE replied by saying "We have customers that go back more than 5 years and they're still in the system".
Did she just call me a liar??
Why yes. I believe she just did.
So I said, "well your database must be wrong".
She just nonchalantly said "No it's not. Give me your phone number."
I should have just left then, but I needed the comforter cleaned, so I gave her the number and she just typed it all in and created a new account for me.
Now I'm back in the system. Lucky me.
She took it, gave me the receipt and said "it'll be forty dollars, pick up on Tuesday". Then just turned away from me and went on about her business.
No "Thank you" No "Come again". No nothing. Just the cold shoulder.
So I left...fuming mad.
While I was on my way home, I decided to stop by:
Angie's Cleaners
1741A Newnan Crossing Blvd
East Kroger Shopping Center
Newnan Ga (770)-252-4844
They're in the adjacent shopping center. I saw that they were open and decided to go back to Rainbow cleaners, grab my comforter, and take it over to Angie's.
When I got to Angie's , I was greeted by an employee named Luke. Luke was polite, welcoming, professional, respectful, and fast. He greeted me at the door and wished me pleasantries when I left. Absolutely no problems with him whatsoever.
So. In short, dry cleaners are much the same when it comes to cleaning. What we all look for in a place like this is friendly customer service. I was accused of lying in a matter of less than a minute when walking into Rainbow, and subsequently treated like shit the rest of the time I was there.
At Angie's, I was treated like an old friend or close relative.
The only positive thing I can say about Rainbow is that the older man in the back seemed polite. He had no clue as to how the lady had treated me. He was probably the owner. If he was, it's too bad that he had to lose a customer and potentially more because of her bad attitude.
Customer service is key, folks. We don't just pay for the dry cleaning, we pay to be treated like you value our business. We pay for you to be friendly and courteous.
...and if you can't find our name in your database, just apologize and kindly request the information again. No need to call us liars just because you can't identify why your system lost our information. read more
