She walked me to the room we get started. I told her not too much pressure because I'm very sensitive and my body's very tight as I have not gotten a massage in a few months. After she proceeds to start 20 minutes in she's still doing a dry rub with a towel over me, then brings out the body oil. Mind you at this point she's also getting calls for other appointments and taking them mid massage. When stepping out she would leave the door wide open without fully covering me back up. She asked me what points of my body hurt. The most. I said my legs are very tender and my back is very tender as well. Please just go lightly in those areas. She said OK and then proceeds to very heavily and painfully work out those areas after I mentioned it to her many many times that I don't need a lot of pressure completely. Disregard it and keep keeps going. This was one of the most painful massages I've ever had in my life and even after the full hour was complete. I felt like my body was even more sore than when I walked in. A few hours after leaving the spa I look at my eyelids and see popped blood vessels,(checking in currently at 6:45pm). That's from the clenching face throughout the massage. I've never experienced this much pain. After changing back into my clothes and walking out to go pay, I proceeded to ask her for change, giving her a tip that I felt was right, and then proceeds to haggle me for more money on the tip. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone in the area.

This was my First time going to July spa. I went in really wanting a relaxing foot massage but once…read morethere I realized this was more of a body massage spa. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the place was clean and cozy. Lisa really worked very hard on me , tho I was looking for more of a relaxing massage I have to say I really got my moneys worth. If you are looking for a therapeutic , healing massage this is your place . I mean Lisa took no short cuts she gave it 110 percent the whole 2 hrs. Tho I did not come out ready to fall asleep I did come out with all of the knots in my back loosened up and all of my muscle pain alleviated. I highly recommend July Spa!

The woman massaging me started to slap my limbs and my body in an effort to "massage" me. Then without warning or consent she massaged me with a hot stone which was just hot and painful. My partner didn't experience any of that luckily but she said it was overall not a good massage. I don't think they are actually qualified as I was getting friction burns with the way she was massaging me. I had to tell her to put more oil. The whole place is shady, I can't really describe it. I'm pretty sure the reviews here are fake so if you're thinking about coming here for a massage, don't! Unless you want to come out worse than you were before.

I would highly, highly recommend this place if you're in the area and are looking for a great way to unwind and relax.

She truly did not miss a single muscle area from head to toe. Moreover, I asked for a deep tissue massage and she went DEEP. She especially did some amazing work on my right shoulder, which I requested. Moreover, apart from working on my requested area, she also did wonders in tensed areas that I did not even know needed some work. You know a massage therapist knows her/his stuff when a therapist massages an area you didn't even think needed to be massaged out until he or she does that magic. This place truly is amazing. The ambiance and environment is beautiful and peaceful and the staff are highly trained, knowledgeable, highly hospitable, and welcoming.

New locks on the lockers and the nasty toilet seats have been changed. It looks and feels so much better. The showers are still a hot mess, broken shower handles and towel warmers that don't work. They shut the sauna off a little early yesterday and we had someone turn it back on but by the time it was up and running we had to go. They close at 6, it was 4. The pool area is still really in need of a deep clean. The baseboards are filled with dirt and possibly mold? Tons of dead bugs by the hot tub windows. For as pricey as this place is, it's really dirty when you look around. This wouldn't fly in a 5 star hotel anywhere else. I had an excellent 80 minute deep tissue massage and fun relaxing pedi with Patty! I left feeling relaxed but was still disappointed with the lack of cleanliness in some areas.

I would give 4.5 stars if I could…read more Highlights: The front desk person (who I think is also a massage therapist) and my massage therapist, Anne, were both lovely. Anne is a skilled therapist, and I enjoyed the Thai/Swedish massage combination. She was respectful of my modesty (though with Thai massage you have to know proximity is much closer than with European massages, for the stretching parts). I appreciated that Anne used hot stones intermittently, so her hands and the lotion were both warm. I definitely left feeling more relaxed than when I came in. And the complimentary hot tea, chocolates, and water after the massage were thoughtful extras. Downsides: Customization--they did ask about any injuries, medical conditions, etc. for intake, and Anne asked what I would like her to focus on. However, it did not feel like the massage was tailored to that request; it felt like the normal routine. Noise--this is a busy downtown area, with thin windows. Loud people on the street could be heard, and you can also hear the train going past intermittently. In addition, the massage rooms are actually cubicles that don't go to the ceiling. This means that when another customer came in, I could very clearly hear the conversation she was having with her massage therapist before her massage. It did detract from the experience. Overall, it was a wonderful massage but wasn't exactly what I was looking for today. I think I would definitely return for a standard Thai massage, which I always enjoy, but look elsewhere for a more customized/therapeutic massage.
