Had a much needed deep tissue massage from licensed massage therapist Shana recently, several months after a C-section. It was amazing! She has strong hands, applying the right amount of pressure (and some) to knots on my neck and muscle pain in my lower back. It was a full body massage and she targeted areas that I didn't think needed kneading, while transitioning smoothly from one area to the next. It was quite an experience and I felt like a new person upon exiting lol. Hope to return again! read more

I am a frequent customer, receiving facials with Lisa. My very first apt, I knew my sensitive face is in great hands! No more adult breakouts (around that time of the month), my skin wasn't oily any more in the T-zone area. My complexion was evening out. Wrinkles?! My wrinkles are not as prevalent! Lisa takes the time to get to know ur face skin, while she works her "magic" at the same time. The last fews weeks have been very stressful, emotionally & mentally. I lost my mom. I was on autopilot! Like the other reviewer I found Mary via Groupon and bought it on a whim to see what other therapists are in the area. The building wasn't hard to find because they're numbered but there are no signs and you have to walk into the lobby to find the office (3rd floor). I've been getting massages consistently for the past 4 years and usually go 2-3x a month to my normal LMT who specializes in medical/deep tissue which is great because I have serious shoulder tension and injuries - so I'm not new to massages or how my body recovers afterwards. Mary is very nice and asked all the right questions about my injuries. I had to remind her that my rotator cuff was torn (after filling out a lengthy questionnaire at the beginning) but to be fair she wasn't overly aggressive with any of my injured spots and immediately stopped working on it. I did mention that it didn't feel like she was putting enough pressure and she said she was. Also at the end my shoulder still felt like it hadn't loosened up at all - and she agreed. She said it was because the muscle was "dense". Hmmm, my normal LMT usually has it like butter after 60 mins; and I spent 90 on Mary's table. 3 stars due to my personal preference for massage pressure and the fact that I am in more pain today than I was yesterday before I saw her. I went in for a therapeutic massage and it really felt like she we barely putting pressure...more brushing than actual massaging (if that makes sense) but each LMT has their own technique. It's too bad that hers didn't agree with me. Other folks may be ok though. I think if I continued to see her we can figure out an approach that'll work but not if it means this much stiffness and soreness post visit. I'm not sure what she did but I don't like it and the kicker is that it didn't hurt the entire time she was working on it. Weird. I've taken naproxen, Tylenol, stretched, iced, heated and soaked yesterday and today...but still can't turn my head or lay comfortably!! read more

I had my first massage today in what feels like forever. My sister and I received side by side massages with Holly and Jody. What a great experience! From the moment we walked in, they made us feel comfortable, catered to, and special. The massages were fantastic! As for myself, Jody placed the perfect amount of pressure on me and made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and I left feeling light and relaxed. My sister said Holly also made her feel comfortable the entire time and also worked out a specific area she had mentioned had been bothering her. We were also given aromatherapy, relaxing music, and hot stone massage as well. The room was very clean and also beautifully decorated. The ambiance was overall very 'zen' and exactly what you'd want from a business that makes you feel important and catered to from the moment you arrive. I found this place as a result of a Google Search. It is a small yet comfortable office. Mary was my massage therapist. I found her to be friendly, competent and very talented. After the 90 minute session I had, my low back pain had disappeared! I highly recommend Mary at Everything Zen. read more
