Our house has a complicated driveway and parking situation which their crew was able to work around seamlessly. Our HOA had its own approval layer on top of the city permit, and Sun Vault Roofing helped us navigate a two-week back-and-forth over approved shingle colors (side salad: ridiculous that HOAs have this kind of bureaucracy). Despite the complications, Sun Vault Roofing kept us updated through every delay and milestone without us having to chase anyone down. That alone was worth the price difference. The crew showed up on time, worked two full days, and left the yard cleaner than they found it. The roof has now been through 2-3 major storms since installation, including the crazy hail in April and there is not a speck of damage. Everything looks sharp and clean. You can tell was done right all the way from the street. If you're getting multiple bids for a roof replacement in the Madison area, make sure Sun Vault Roofing is one of them. Just don't let the price be the reason you go somewhere else, if they are not the lowest. The quality they provide is worth it.

My husband found this company online and they were the first call we made (expecting to make a few more). The owner was the one that answered, and he was on the road. He said he could come out today, within the hour, so we said yes. He called again to let us know when he was 15 minutes away- we were impressed already. He pulled up with his trailer in tow and a crew member with him. He gave us an estimate we were happy with and we asked when he could come back to do the work. To our surprise, he replied "how about now?" He explained that he was on his way home, but since he was here he might as well fix it, otherwise we'd have to wait a couple weeks for him to come back. Of course we said yes, and he got right to work! He had all the supplies and tools in his trailer and bent the gutters right there on site. They removed the old ones, made new (seamless) ones, and had them installed in a little over an hour. We had an issue with a blown fuse (he needed power for his machine to make the gutters) and he was very nice and understanding about it, even though it cost him a little time getting things going again. We'll see how things go once it rains (he did say they were warrantied though, and to give him a call if we had any issues whatsoever) but the customer service was outstanding! I'd recommend these guys in a heartbeat. UPDATE (12/30 /14): Just wanted to update that the gutters are working beautifully. Still very highly recommend these guys. =)

I used the contact us page on their website, I got a response the next day from Cory simply asking me what kind of siding I have, and if I had any extra pieces. No quote, no scheduled time to come out and look at any of the issues around the home. I responded to Cory that day letting him know about the siding and asked when they would get an estimate to me or schedule a visit. No response. I emailed Cory again saying I was still waiting a response and asked if Doug's Handyman Service was still interested in the jobs? No response. So I called their main number and left a voicemail, no response. I even filled out another inquiry on their site and got no response. I'm not sure why they ghosted me when I have many small jobs that I want to pay someone to fix. Either they are too busy or they don't want to jobs. Which is fine, but at least respond to the customers.

We undertook a large remodel project that included a new roof, windows, siding, and gutters than…read moreran from July-November. This two-star rating does not reflect the quality of work performed by the individual sub-contracted companies, which final product was satisfactory after timely repairs. The low rating is due to a significant lack of communication with Ridge Top, and unfinished work. Sub-contracted crews showed up on-site unannounced or changed their work schedule without notice from Ridge Top. We were informed we did not need to be home on days only outdoor projects would be completed, and yet crews were ringing the doorbell asking for instructions about installation that was not provided to them by Ridge Top (window orientation, down spout locations, etc). This interfered with work-from-home meetings. During siding work, the doorbell circuit was closed by poor nail placement causing it to run continuously. This resulted in both the door bell and transformer to become overheated and melt the bell chime cover inside the house. This was replaced by an electrician in a timely manner. Significant work-site debris was left in the yard, and Ridge Top's project managers shared our alarm at the final walk through. Together, we picked up roofing brackets, pail-full of nails we have collected with our own magnet, trimmed pieces of fascia/soffit/siding, and whole shingles. When we signed with Ridge Top we specifically asked, and were assured, that the new window trim would match the existing size, eliminating the need for additional significant drywall and paint repair. After 2 separate measurement appointments before installation, the finished trim installed on 13 windows was significantly smaller. We raised this concern during installation and at multiple walkthroughs, but it was repeatedly ignored. At the final walkthrough, Ridge Top acknowledged the extensive repairs required to both drywall and painting, and offered to provide compensation if we could get a quote from our own painter. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the quote was shared with Ridge Top and multiple un-returned phone calls, they reversed this decision citing generic contract terms. This situation would not have been an issue had Ridge Top honored their initial assurance of minimal repairs or addressed the problem promptly. Instead, the lack of transparency and follow-through has resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and frustration.
