Post is only about Taco Tuesday however I've had their other menu items and really enjoyed those too. $1.30 tacos for certain meats: pollo, pastor, carnitas, cabeza and chorizo. The pastor and chorizo are very flavorful, leaning slightly salty if you prefer that. Carnitas and cabeza are my personal favorites, good mix of fatty and meaty that is just juicy enough. Pollo is also good not dry. They have four salsas that are self serve, the greens are my preferred, not too spicy. The reds are mostly spice and less flavorful, they made me tear up a bit. Also self serve is limes, pickled onions and carrots/veggies, and sliced radishes. Really like the pickled onions and sliced radishes with the tacos, I've found them to be fresh every time. Sometimes served with grilled onions and a grilled pepper which is the best, but not guaranteed. I'd come back to try other dishes but you can't beat their taco Tuesdays deal.

We got chai on the house and they hooked it up with the sauces. We waited in the car and they delivered to our window. They used to open from 2-6pm(?) but changed their hours for Ramadan from 5-10pm to cater to their customers. The rice is extremely flavorful. I could eat the rice alone honestly. The meats are juicy with a hint of sweetness. The garlic sauce is perfect, I like the consistency. It's not super creamy like a ranch. It's more fluid, it comes right out of the container, no scraping needed. The green "hot sauce" gives the dish some acidity (although it can be spicier, it's more flavor than hot sauce) with the cilantro-vinegary feel and taste. The portions are huge. If you like The Halal Guys, picture that elevated. I am a loyal Halal Guys fan, don't get me wrong - I still love it, however Taste of Somalia is truly a level up. Nothing was left on the plate at the end :) The owner was there with another person and they were both very kind and thoughtful! You can tell they put their heart and soul into it! I decided on the tacos al pastor and my wife had the deluxe burrito (with chicken). I don't think she finished her first bite before saying it was one of the best burritos she's had. Full of chicken and flavor right up to the end. My tacos were juicy and full of flavor. I'm just now getting started on my al pastor journey (Journey al Pastor?) but if this is a good example, it's going to be a fun adventure. I look forward to coming back and trying some other favorites here. Perhaps a touch pricier than I was expecting, but that's the way of things these days. Easy to spend just as much at a drive through, so at least the food was delightful.
