Brisket plate with Mac & cheese and baked beans
    Buzzy B.

Definitely recommend Clyde's! Stopped for takeout after a mariners game and was not disappointed. The smell was amazing! Service was quick and friendly. We split a brisket plate with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The brisket was fall apart delicious! Loved they added some burnt ends - the bark was perfect. The Mac and cheese had a nice crust and baked beans were very good. Their sauce has just the right amount of spices. Cornbread was a little dry but we still ate it!

    They got greens y'all!!!!

First off Mmmmmmmmm..... Delicious convenient roadside BBQ with good service!!!!! My wife & I got the brisket & rib combo with greens and mac&cheese which also came with cornbread. A great value considering this is authentic southern bbq y'all. I couldn't resist trying the hotlink with baked beans & those brown sugar yams. I can't wait to stop in again to try the rest of their sure to be tasty menu items. Thank you for bringing authentic southern bbq to Renton!!!!!

    Look at all that brisket!

This is the best BBQ I've tasted in the Seattle area! I ordered the brisket sandwich, fried okra, and collard greens. The sandwich was packed with brisket, and the sauce is the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. Tip: get the BBQ sauce on the side if you don't plan on eating it right away. The fried okra, so crispy on the outside, cooked through to where the inside had that creamy texture. Perfectly seasoned. The collards I could have eaten a while pot alone. No extra vinegar, hot sauce needed. It's in there! The pot liquor? Whooooooo! My only regret, I didn't get the cornbread to soak it up. I wasn't going to waste any of that liquid gold! Drinking it was still My-T-Fine! Stop in and give it all a try yourself!

Drove past this food truck and noticed the bbq smell. After seeing consistent customers I decided to stop by and give them a try. I was skeptical at first being the area isn't particularly know for good bbq. Needless to say I am glad I stopped. I actually ordered here twice now as I write this review. The first time I had the rib meal which I got the bbq sauce on the side, I had their two standard sides (potato salad and baked beans). All meals come with the standard side and there is a $1 upcharge to change the side. I enjoyed the ribs they were tender and moist, I honestly didn't even need bbq sauce. Both sides were good as well. My second visit I got the chicken meal and it good as well. I recommend this place if you're looking for good bbq . Lastly, the customer service was great. On my first visit they forgot to add an extra side I payed for in addition to my meal. I was unable to go back and called and left a message. I received a call back and was able to pick up the side the next day.

Half of two plates - ribs & biscuits with beans, cornbread and potato salad

My husband, two littles and I shared two plates for about $40 and even had some leftovers for lunch the next day! We chose the ribs for one plate and brisket for the other. Both came with a good portion of BBQ sauce, slice of cornbread, scoop of potato salad, & good portion of baked beans. My husband definitely liked the flavor of the ribs and the brisket was your standard from a good BBQ place. Clyde's is definitely a gem for the otherwise hard to come by legit BBQ options in the Pacific Northwest. Not sure it's my favorite to be honest but definitely decent and appreciated the value! I think the potato salad stood out to me as the most unique of the things we tried. Everything else was on par with what I'd expect from a legit BBQ place.

I stopped in about 30 mins after they opened on a friday and they had a lunch rush, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait at least 20mins. I ordered the 6oz catfish and chips which came with 3 catfish strips, fries, 1 hush puppy, chips and a drink ($16.99) I also got a side of mac&cheese. The positives: staff was kind, pastor at the counter would make jokes with customers and you could tell they had regulars during lunch time. Fries were well seasoned, hush puppy was good and Mac was acceptable. My only issue with the catfish was that it was overcooked and became a bit chewy (see photo). Sitting in there it seems like the wings were a customer favorite so I would love to go back and try their wings and other sides. Since my order took longer (there was a large order right before mines) the pastor at the counter thanked me for my patience and threw in a dessert.

It was cheesy, seasoned and cooked just right. The fried chicken was cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. My breast was still juicy and piping hot. Call ahead for to go orders or you'll spend your time waiting for the chicken to be fried. I remembered Salty Blue was on my list and they had a front patio, so that was THE CHOICE! We found a small table for two right outside their window, just in the shade- perfect for me and my husband. I ordered the cod (battered) fish and chips, I wanted to go simple my first time. When it arrived at the table, it was a huge piece of fish sitting atop plenty of fries! The crispy batter stayed on the fish as I ate- a big plus. I enjoyed it with malt vinegar and an incredible sauce full of dill, and I LOVE dill. The fries were good but slightly soggy, maybe from the fish sitting on top, perhaps I'll immediately push them to the side next time. My husband got the grilled Mahi Mahi with chips. It looked beautiful and he said it tasted wonderful, even without any sauce or condiments. The servers came outside to check on us a couple times, which was much appreciated! We had our meals with a cold pint of beer each and just loved having delicious food while relaxing in the warm air on a sunny day. One of my favorite things about the food is that you can choose to have your fish & chips either grilled or battered and either with fries or salad. Fantastic for those days when you want something on the lighter side. The menu also has so many other items I'd like to try. Definitely will be back!

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.
