Kim behind the bar deserves her own award. She kept the whole group laughing, remembered our drink orders after the first night, and made every one of us feel like a regular, maybe even more like old friends, even though we'd just walked in. That kind of warmth is rare, and it set the tone for our whole stay. If I could stay here forever orrr bring her with us home, I would without a doubt! And Harley the dog? An absolute icon. Ask for him by name. He greeted us every evening waiting to do tricks and chase his ball, and honestly, he might be the best host in Bushmills. Beyond Kim and Harley, the entire staff made this trip unforgettable. They took care of a big, loud, celebratory group night after night without ever missing a beat, and they did it with genuine kindness, not just professionalism. If you're looking for a place with soul, in the middle of Bushmills, in a town already full of charm, The Bush House is it. We came for a wedding and left with a new favorite spot in Northern Ireland. Can't wait to come back and say hi to Kim and Harley again.

I'm so pleased that Bush House wasn't closed. A pint of Guinness of course accompanied with a pour of Bushmills whiskey. It was excellent to sit in the back room of the pub and watch the locals having a discussion of football and weather and just being local. Two ladies had brought their very well behaved dogs who were also sitting in the back. Neat spot, fun local vibe. A real treat. [Review 1855 of 2024 - 843 in United Kingdom - 22877 overall]

The classic pub elevates the menu to offer food that was tasty and fairly priced. My partner raves about the curry and my sea bass was very well cooked and presented. Garlic bread is incredible though the "aioli" tasted like it was just mayo but the bread didn't need it at all. Goujons were good but the bbq sauce didn't taste bbq at all. The pepper sauce was nice though. Star here was the rotisserie chicken: fall off the bone and cooked perfectly. Again though, sauce was mid. Nothing on this menu needs a sauce (except Goujons) but they all come with them! Dishes def stand alone. All that said, the device made the meal!

The food was mediocre at best. I had toasted bruschetta., small salad and grilled pepper chicken. The bruschetta was a slice of toasted bread with goat cheese and tomato with balsamic glaze. It was the best part of my meal. The side salad was shredded iceberg, lettuce with barely,if any salad dressing that tasted watery. The grilled peppered chicken had some sort of coating that was like breading and of course pepper. It was a large portion however pepper was over baring. My hubs had the Guinness brisket burger and Crispy Irish bread fries. The " bread fries" are best described as battered mashed potato fingers. No seasoning . The burger presentation was unappetizing, a sloppy smashed mess. The brisket on the burger was extremely fatty. This place is low scale bar food at best. NOT the place you want to go for a nice dinner and I am sure there are much better places in Portrush.

We sat at one of the tables right in the windowand a charming young man took our drinks orders, waiting patiently while number one son deliberated carefully between orange and blackcurrant cordial. Not an impatient sigh to be heard so definitely a good start. Around us was a complete mix of people, ladies having coffee (never understand people who go to a pub and have coffee but let's not judge), young guys having lots of pints and other families. We were lucky in getting our seats at the window and enjoyed the beautiful views of the sea and cliffs, just breathtaking. I was equally delighted by the fact thatthey serve mini bottles of Chardonnay as most bars seem to serve only that vinegary muck known as sauvignon. The kids were quite noisy but not out of control noisy and everyone seemed happy with that. Well, I was anyway. Only downside was that they had no crisps which for us are a must when you're not having a meal. A great spot for day drinks for a family ot group of friends.

The Causeway Breakfast Grill includes everything in an Irish breakfast, lots of protein and a couple bits of carb: sausage, back bacon with a fried egg, chewy potato bread and yeasty soda farl, grilled tomato and mushrooms as well. Other options include pancakes, an okay smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and surprisingly delicious milky Porridge. There's a Continental Breakfast buffet that's open to everyone, and it has all the staples. Cereal, yogurt, and toast are sprinkled with a sparse selection of fruit, and a few pastries that run out fast. The coffee is awful. I don't think anyone here knows how to make coffee. Make it in your room or just have a nice cup of tea. Most of the food is alright, though, things like the Roast Silverside of Beef Sunday can be quite bland. The beef is tough, the Yorkshire pudding is great, and the Brussels sprouts are steamed to a dreadful pulp. There's a caramelised onion and goat's cheese tartlet that's more like a quiche, filled with fluffy eggs and plenty of creamy cheese, and it makes a nice, light lunch. Fish and chips is always a good option, and the Open Steak Sandwich is my favorite thing by far. The McAtamney's rolled rump is quite tender and the peppercorn sauce is great, with a lot of fresh black pepper for flavor. Afternoon Tea is only for two so if you're dining solo, not only are you lonely, you also don't get tea. It's a fun selection, enjoyed the sausage roll and smoked salmon, and scones are always lovely. The cheesecake is freezer-burnt, but everything else is alright. If you want dessert, the Bushmills Pecan Nut Pie is the only one I tried, and I love it. It's basically a a pecan pie, but that happens to be my favorite pie, and they make a good one. The rooms have no refrigeration so you're mostly eating here if you don't want to drive elsewhere. The food is okay overall, but the prices are rather high compared to less touristy location.
