The food here IS CRACK. I love African food. They cook with love lol. Tasted every bit of love. I ordered the chicken dish, and it was BOMB. Tall about flavor. I cleaned my entire dish. The service isn't the best. I went in to order take out. I didn't see anyone for 5-7 minutes. I waited at the counter until someone came from the back to take my order. very disappointed I ordered Atcheke and received 3 pieces of fish instead of the whole fish! if you're not from Ghana they think you're dumb meaning you will get reheated old food and please don't make the mistake and order when they're about to close because they will play with you and mess your order up ! I asked for no meat they don't care what ever is convenient for them they will do definitely not fresh the woman with the braces messes up order every time like she does it on purpose!! Was visiting VA from mn landed in Dulles and was craving African food. Had went to the Alexandria location, so to my delight this location was closest to Dulles. It was exactly what I was craving . Soooo delicious. A bit small and no seating when I got there. Waited about ten minutes while my food was getting ready, and seats available. Had the fufu with okra, mom had the attieke. Just enough spice , my almost two years old was enjoying the fufu so much. And yusifu was sooo pleasant. Friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. read more

Pros: - The bean stew IS REALLY GOOD! The best thing I've tried at Rahama. It is vegan so i believe you can pay extra to add meat. -The peanut soup is alright, not jammed packed with flavor but still gets the job done. -Attieke is good too, but i was a bit disappointed in the chicken provided in it as it was a bit burnt and seemingly dated chicken. But the croaker fish was alright. They also gave me a almost salsa like pepper sauce that wasn't spicy. Not sure if they hadn't had time to cook the sauce yet & thought that'll do or if that's how theirs really comes but the sauce was still good. - jallof rice & stew is good too This place is great if you stick to the basics like the things listed in my pros but I'm not sold on any of their heavier greener sauces it's also great for convenience if you're in the area or the only African food place you have nearby but I believe If they invested more in more quality local ingredients that bring the flavors of west African food together, and also higher quality meats it will improve drastically & taste alot more authentic as now it tastes a bit less authentic. Customer service is ok but nothing extravagant. I've visited two of their locations; And I can say the same for both. read more

My customer service at this Rahama for awhile has been somewhat disappointing unfortunately. It's a shame that my experience here today makes me not want to return. I called around 5pm hoping to place a pickup order to get a single ball of banku, only to hear they only are served as a combo with a stew/soup/etc. This didn't bother me much, but the young lady on the phone was very brief with me and ultimately hung up on me. Never got my name, phone number, ETA- nothing. I arrived to the store- it was completely empty apart from a gentleman that was walking in front of me. He proceeded to place his order right then- I then spoke up about my banku pickup, and when she acknowledged it, the lady disappeared the back. A couple orders were taken after me and one gentleman was even given his order and he left. It was only 15 minutes later when she was helping another customer at the register that I asked, "how long for my pickup order placed over 30 minutes ago" - and I was told that "'she'was bringing it". I was given my food 5 minutes later and left pretty upset. I know this place can do much better so I'm always disappointed to see not much is improving. My banku tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot, and my okro soup had ALOT of bones- both big and small. I really really hope management sees this, because like others have echoed before me, the quality of food is way too good to be treated like this. read more

Don't let the reviews fool you - the food here is delicious and the restaurant was busy. I ordered the fufu with goat & okra. The portion of the stew was good and the stew itself was savory, spicy, and slimy (in the best way because of the okra). The goat was a little overcooked, so it was tough to tear pieces with my hand, but it was still really tasty and meaty. I love eating with my hands so I really enjoyed eating the stew with the fufu to soak up all the flavor. I also bought the peanut cakes - they're more like peanut brittle but really sweet way to end a hearty meal. read more

The food is true to authentic Ghanaian food (I'm Ghanaian). I came recently and had banku with okra stew. It was delicious. I wish it had a bit more salt and less oil, but overall very good. I just removed the oil with a spoon and got to eating lol. I love that there is finally more options for Ghanaian food in the area, i will certainly be back! read more

I've tried for years to give them the benefit of the doubt, I came back again and again. It use to hit the spot, but now it's a long shot to even to get me to think about the place. I've asked them to change the area code 2 years ago, I've called while inside the establishment to watch no one pick up. I talked to a gentleman (Hassam I believe) who was at the Woodbridge location, visiting Sterling and he seems to be the only one who chooses to care and listen. It pains me to do this because I was hoping they understood they were representing a culture in Loudoun but they are failing terribly. I wanted to like this place but..... I asked guy behind the counter WHAT pieces of chicken did he have for $2 a piece (as his menu stated) he just nodded his his head saying "Yes chicken." I asked if the were thighs or drums he said thighs. Then within 5 minutes came out some COLD drumsticks! That were both bland AND undercooked...(pink inside). After i explained that to the woman at the front desk she took the 2 drums back that i had bitten into twice, took them back to the kitchen and put those 2 drums back in the grease and fried them some some more! We ordered food online, can't tell you what the food tastes like, because evidently they didn't have any of our order available. They said they cancelled our order but we did not receive any type of alert. So we drove all the way over there for no reason. When we arrived we walked in and they said immediately we are CLOSED, No hellos just we are CLOSED. All the employees were counting their tips out in the lobby area, not a good look. We should have at least received a phone call immediately telling us unfortunately we have none of your order! Do you think we are going back????? Ha. The food is authentic Ghanaian. I always get the waakye. It's delicious I just wish I had a little extra sauce. I like it saucy . Also grabbed a couple of the meat pies for my late night snack. I noticed they are taking COVID precautions they had sanitizer at the register and the staff wore masks and gloves. I used Apple Pay. I have picked up food from this restaurant a few times and got the same horrible customer service. The food isnt the greatest either. I decided to give them a try by ordering online so that I won't have to deal with the horrible customer service. I didnt mind paying the $10 delivery fee, for my peace of mind. Well, they messed up my order and didn't have one of my meals. When I called to find out what happened to my order, they said they will refund my money for the dish they didn't have. I asked when they are planning to refund my money, and I got the most unprofessional response from the lady on the phone. She would not tell me when she would initiate the refund, instead, she said " please don't stress me, don't spoil my day. If I were to give you a refund, you will not see it until tomorrow anyway". I asked if she realizes that I am the customer and that I should be refunded immediately, the same way that I paid immediately after placing my order". Well, the lady hung up on me. Yes, she hung up on me. After several attempts to speak with someone, she picked up the phone and left me hanging, while yelling to her colleagues that I was stressing her out. A man finally answered and apologized, but as I mentioned to him, they just lost a customer. My $60 went to waste, the food that was delivered was horrible, and filled with excess red oil, I dumped it out so I don't get sick. I am waiting for the refund on the meal that I paid for, and was not included in my order. I really wish restaurants such as Rahama would at least be professional. read more
