Bike Bakersfield

I had a 20 year old mountain bike that needed some service. I needed new brakes and a good overall…read moreservice. It had not been touched in at least 15 years. I called other bike shops in the area and the cheapest one was over $300. They were nickel and diming me. There was not 1 charge to replace the brakes, there was a charge to remove the brake lever for the front brakes, a charge for removing the lever for the rear brakes, a charge to take off the cables... and on and on. There should just be a charge to remove and a charge to install. I found Bike Bakersfield and I asked them how much would it cost and they told me $50. Huh? How fast can I get my bike to you? Well I had to get my bike from the other shop and they had it for a few days. When i picked it up they had done nothing to it. They did charge my a nominal fee but I just wanted to get my bike out of there. I brought my bike over and talked to Aaron. He was very nice and I saw that there were a couple of people working on bikes. I asked if they opened it up and were allowing people to work on their own bikes and he said no they were employees. That was fine I was just curious. He said it would be ready in a couple of days. I came back a few days later and my bike was ready, and Aaron said since I brought the new brakes with all the cables he said it would only be $25, huh again? Wow, that was great. I hope the pandemic ends soon because I do like working on my bike but if I need something fixed on my bike again i am coming here. This is a great place!

Brought my bike initially to get my brake cables extended since I added a new handle bar that rises…read moreabout 8 inches higher. Staff recommended a tune up which only costs $45. Most affordable in town. They did an awesome job with my vintage GT MTBMX cruiser build. Ended up buying a GT seat from one of the staff. Owner was very transparent and staff were all super helpful. Overall did an amazing job, friendly staff and received a lot of compliments on my bike. Donated my spare parts since they are a non profit organization and also have a free 2nd hand bike program which is amazing.

Law Office of Alfred R. Hernandez

I had a Legal question.... Don't we all, from time to time? What to do, what to do.. I resorted to…read moreYelp to find the right attorney. So I picked one and I decided to send him a Yelp mail to ask a question. What I didn't realize, was that the (Yelp) screen was also suggesting to send my private mail to other attorneys. In fact, the (Yelp) screen had put checkmarks on the names of the additional attorneys and it was asking me if I want Yelp to send my message to them too. I DIDN'T REALIZE I was being asked that question. I sent my message to the "one" attorney that I thought I was communicating with, only. Meanwhile, my message went to multiple attorneys by Yelp.... I realized it, AFTER I clicked on SEND. Next, I wrote a second message to all the other attorneys that I had not personally chosen. I explained my error and apologized. One of those attorneys was Mr. Alfred R. Hernandez. The best surprise came when Mr. Hernandez responded. I suspect my question had nothing to do with his area of expertise. He is listed under Wills, Trusts & Probates.... My question had NOTHING to do with any of that! NONETHELESS, he helped me.... Really! He took the time to carefully review my question and wrote back. He gave me guidance about my approach. His email was thorough, and it had CARING advice. He ACTUALLY taught me a few important things I didn't know anything about. Who knew?!!! I felt as though my BIG BROTHER has written to me. HONESTLY. Look, let's face it. Everybody knows attorneys are NOT generally like that. They generally do not go out of their way, to help you! But Mr. Alfred Hernandez did. I read his message multiple times. I can use any Legal advice at this point. And I appreciated it so much. Nowadays, that personal touch in doing business is disappearing fast by the day. Everyone is busy, everyone has a big To Do list. Most people are too busy for "courteous" gestures of suport towards one another. So when you find a professional who still hasn't lost it in him to help others, and CARES enough to help you, when he knows CRYSTAL CLEAR that there may be NOTHING in it for him, you will remember him. You will put a little star next to his name on your list. You will express your gratitude. Why? Because it's RARE. NONE of those other attroneys wrote back to me; except this one. I didn't learn anything from them; except from this one, who CARED. And that is "important" in a professional. I will take your advice to heart and will treat it like gold. Thank you for extending a helping hand. I will definitely recommend you and everyone should know that behind this Yelp Page, there is a REAL CARING human being. THANKS A MILLION!

Of-course most replies first message to me were their list of fee's and so forth, thats ok, I get that and totally understand it, gotta pay if we're looking for any legal help. I get it. But, Mr. Hernandez' reply to me was different from the others, he was the ONLY lawyer to reply back telling me to try out these "FREE" forms first where I could basically fill out a Will myself...for free! He sent me three state websites that I should check out first where I maybe will not need to pay any money. Mr. Hernandez did not have to do that, he could have done what the others did and sent me his fees and so forth. Mr. Hernandez doing this for me proves he absolutely cares about helping people first, instead of taking people's money first. He most likely saved me ALOT of money. This simple act show's the charachter and integrity of Mr. Hernandez. I will absolutely keep Mr. Hernandez' number close by if I should need him in the future and I will definitely recommend his services to others. Thank you so much again Mr. Hernandez!
