And it's usually good! This chemist is mostly used by office staff in and around the Sandyford industrial estate. They pile in here to get the usual headache tablets and Lemsip's depending on their ailment of course! But this chemist offer much more. It has those fancy make up counters that are usually reserved for the likes of brown Thomas, it has a children's section that includes all sorts of accoutrements that are needed by babies and toddlers. Then there is the normal make up stands that fit into the shelving of the shop. On top of all this there is a stand that always has twinkly things hanging from it, little statues made of crystal, I have never bought one but they sure are eye catchers! Just in case you weren't drawn in by the orange sale stickers!

However, in these straitened times, I wonder how many Homer Simpson beer hats it is going to shift, as customers seem to be a lot less willing to part with their hard won cash for talking key rings and the like. Bypassing the premature Christmas presents, this Boots has the usual great cosmetic and toiletry ranges, and those all important offers. However, look closely before you buy, as although the buy one get one free offers are obviously a gift from the heavens, check into those "2 for €4.50" ones - you might be saving just a few cent.

The staff in here are very friendly and really konw their stuff. One thing i like about this chemist is the fact that they sell and display cheaper alternatives to normal tablets, like solpadeine and nurofen, they are the same ingredients and work the same but are alot cheaper and the staff here are willing to advise you on it and encourage you to go for the cheap alternative, they are not out for money, you feel they care about the person not just the sale.

The staff is excellent and has several times taken pity on my lost and forlorn look and readily offered assistance. I'm not sure if it was because I was a guy and couldn't figure which brand of motion sickness mediciine was the one closest to my wife's usual brand and had that panicked oh-lord-which-one-will-make-her-happy look or because I'm an American who was wandering the aisle's in the vain hope of finding cough syrup (for my American readers-ya gotta ASK for it, it's kept behind the counter and they may ask for 17 different proofs-of-age before letting you buy it), but the staff has been very helpful and friendly each and every time I've been in. Bottom Line: Service with a smile gets an extra star..

They always have a sale on some type of make up in here; two big baskets sit at the entrance of the shop brim full of lip glosses and eye shadows, good for a rummage in when you're waiting for someone! The staff are very helpful too, I went in looking for a particular type of moisturiser one day but they didn't stock it so the lady behind the counter ordered it in specially for me, it was nice to see that she didn't give the usual lazy response of "i think they stock it in...try there". I look the look of the shop too, nice clean white surfaces, just like a chemist should look!

The cost at a different chemist for the same steroids EUR 6.62 Queried this to the pharmacist who said that depending on the chemist such price disparities can happen.....over 3 TIMES more expensive...felt violated!!! One thing i always think is surprising and nice is that they sell a small range of Bodyshop products just inside the door, I always thought that you could only get these in a body shop store but there they are tempting you from the shelf of a normal chemist!
