And it's usually good! This chemist is mostly used by office staff in and around the Sandyford industrial estate. They pile in here to get the usual headache tablets and Lemsip's depending on their ailment of course! But this chemist offer much more. It has those fancy make up counters that are usually reserved for the likes of brown Thomas, it has a children's section that includes all sorts of accoutrements that are needed by babies and toddlers. Then there is the normal make up stands that fit into the shelving of the shop. On top of all this there is a stand that always has twinkly things hanging from it, little statues made of crystal, I have never bought one but they sure are eye catchers! Open until 10pm you probably won't find a later opening pharmacy in the area, and because of it's location on O'Connell Street near O'Connell Bridge you would find yourself passing it reasonably often. Location brings other things too, like the constant feeling that the security people are going to jump you if you move too close to anything in the shop! And price are a little higher than the more suburban pharmacies, but I guess you can't complain when the location and opening hours probably make that necessary.

I have been using McCabes Pharmacy at the Pavillions for my prescriptions for well over a year…read more They regularly make mistakes with my medication, leaving items off , meaning I have to go back to get the missing item. The last time this happened was with last months script. With the result I had to go back and request the missing item again. Yesterday when my wife collected my repeat prescription she was told I needed a new prescription for next month. I didn't - again they had to be chased up later the same day to check the script. There was in fact another month left on the script. The staff don't appear to be tuned in. I have collected the script and will not be using McCabes in future for any prescriptions as it is getting beyond a joke. Last year I was given my medication with another persons name and address on the package. The name was the same, but address completely different. They don't appear to have any controls in place. AVOID.

The late opening times are the real bonus of this place. There have been countless times in which I've needed some lemsip, painkillers or prescriptions after six o'clock and I've had to 'wait it out' whatever reason. A great place to be aware of.
