They have everything you need in here, there is somewhere to get your prescrptions, perfume and make up counters. there is a first aid section,a health food/natural medicine section. there is a kids section and a hair section.... i could go on but you get the idea! The staff in here are very friendly and really konw their stuff. One thing i like about this chemist is the fact that they sell and display cheaper alternatives to normal tablets, like solpadeine and nurofen, they are the same ingredients and work the same but are alot cheaper and the staff here are willing to advise you on it and encourage you to go for the cheap alternative, they are not out for money, you feel they care about the person not just the sale.

BUT... The staff is excellent and has several times taken pity on my lost and forlorn look and readily offered assistance. I'm not sure if it was because I was a guy and couldn't figure which brand of motion sickness mediciine was the one closest to my wife's usual brand and had that panicked oh-lord-which-one-will-make-her-happy look or because I'm an American who was wandering the aisle's in the vain hope of finding cough syrup (for my American readers-ya gotta ASK for it, it's kept behind the counter and they may ask for 17 different proofs-of-age before letting you buy it), but the staff has been very helpful and friendly each and every time I've been in. Bottom Line: Service with a smile gets an extra star..

Just my luck all of this happens to go down after normal hours of business. Thankfully there's a late night pharmacy in Rathgar for all my late night needs. It's a small enough chemist, but it's got all the essential that you need and the staff is always super friendly!

Unprofessional pharmacy, I will make sure to stay away!!!…read moreTheir unprofessionalism was and still is on the service level and now I realized that they were literally doing a damage to my wallet. I have been getting my prescriptions here for approximately two years, and my wife and I have our Drugs Payment Scheme since April 2023. My wife and I both gave our cards to the pharmacy (I did so at least 2-3 times) and were expecting everything to run smoothly, so not really checking whether the 80EUR monthly limit was met... In July I got a prescription from my GP for 6 months, and the pharmacy happily charged me over 300EUR for it. When I realized the amount I reached out to the HSE for a refund and I was sent by them back to the pharmacy to sort things with them since the HSE only handles things when these invlove more than one pharmacy. These guys first refunded me, but then said that since the prescription is for a 6 months period I didn't reach the 80EUR cap and took my money again saying that I have just over 50 EUR per month which should be taken into account. At that time I got another prescription drug, which they claimed to have, and then not have, with them changing their versions every day making me run around town to get that drug in other pharmacies and saying I will have to work with HSE to sync and get the refund for the sum over 80EUR. Just last month my wife wanted to pick my prescription and they said they are putting the drug aside, and when she came to pick this up they suddenly didn't have it. Yesterday (Dec20th) I cam to pick up my latest prescription after my GP called them to make sure they have it, and they tried to charge me 130 for it, after I asked them about the drug payment scheme they changed their version and wanted to charge me 80EUR. When I confronted them asking "where is my 50EUR monthly credit on the drug scheme" that they explained to me about just a couple of months back they pharmacist claimed that they now don't have my card on file, and that the 300+ purchase for 6 months wasn't part of it and was private since they didn't even know I had the card (which is a blatant lie since they actually refunded me based on the card and then charged me again as a 6 months prescription). After an argument she charged me 80EUR since she insisted on not having my card on file (again, a blatant lie) and I stormed out (I actually found out from my wife she already had s prescription this month for circa 15EUR which is now apparent they didn't include in any calculation). I think that a pharmacy is supposed to be a place that gives proper, professional service to people and shouldn't work like a random stand in a 3rd world country market. I don't even know how much my wife and I overpaid during the two years we got our prescriptions from them, and the way they made me run around town for a drug they said they have is just preposterous. I will be making a complaint with the PSI, but in the meanwhile I would advise everyone to stay away from this unprofessional establishment!!!

Run by Des Brady and his wife, Morehampton Pharmacy has been in Donnybrook for as long as I can…read moreremember. This is the type of local business that many rely on for good advice, great service and lynx deodorant box-sets close to Christmas. They've recently revamped a little, presumably in response to Boots opening next door, and the shop front is now pretty snazzy. The shop is pretty tiny but stocks a good range of hair and beauty products on top of all the regular D.I.Y. health care items. So, four stars for this local institution. One removed for not having any shampoo specific to curly hair, the normal stuff frizzes up my do, we need more moisture than you straight haired guys see.

I am an awful procrastonater when it comes to my own medical needs but this time I had left it too long and was running out of excuses. So prescription in my wallet I went for a walk first and then happened upon this place. Bypassing the Boots that is beside it I popped in here. Small inside. Stocked with your regular needs. Classical music playing on the radio which I thought was a lovely soothing touch. The man and the woman in there could not have been more friendly and welcoming, addressing me by my first name (on prescription). We had a chat about the weather and rugby. That is what I want from my local shop, pharmacy, pub etc. Staff that have the time to exchange niceties - it makes life so much more positive!
