Our appointment was for 1pm and our van went in about 10 mins later. He had told me, when I made the appointment, exactly what each service would cost me. I brought my own tires and he put them on and balanced for way cheaper than all the other local shops. He inspected my van for less than the average price too. He showed me where I would need to have my tie rods replaced and suggested a trusted repair shop up the street as he was not equipped to do the alignment after the repair. At no time did I feel he was pushing add ons or unnecessary additional services. I would highly recommend going to Kingsley's Automotive for your vehicle repairs. Be advised that the shop looks like a one man show so wait times can vary but he comes out to let you know if anything is going to take longer. Thank you Ed for doing a great job! Well, after TWO WEEKS I had to hire the guy who towed it there to tow it the hell out of there, UNTOUCHED! Wth? Rude and gave me the unbelievable runaround. After being left in same spot in the middle of winter for two weeks w out being started etc it was in worse shape that when it was brought there! They said they couldn't get the key to work.... what? ... that I gave them the wrong key! Ummmm I have one car this make and yet I apparently brought them a different key, one that wouldn't open or start my car?? Then ( with the WRONG KEY ) they miraculously diagnosed it and they said I should junk it and that it couldn't be repaired but they could just get rid of it if I wanted to just leave it there with them... all WHAT??? My tow guy said there were NO FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW TO THE DRIVERS DOOR WHERE HE PARKED IT BEFORE HE LEFT IT AND NONE WHEN HE PICKED IT UP! Why lie? Since my experience all I hear are horror stories about that place! Upon picking up the car in the morning (after 16 days of it being there) my towing guy dropped it off at another place and by the close of business the following day it was completely fixed, engine, alternator, oil and fluids changed and a new battery, a new wiper blade AND inspection sticker on it for under $500.00! And with the SAME WRONG KEY I GAVE TWO JOHNS... imagine that. -12 stars if I could!

Avoid S & P Auto at All Costs - Predatory Pricing and Terrible Customer Service…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. My daughter's car was towed a mere 7.2 miles from New London, NH to S & P Auto in Andover on a Saturday. When a friend attempted to retrieve the vehicle, they were told it would cost $800 to release it. Yes, you read that right--$800 for a short tow and two days of storage. When I called to get an explanation of the charges, I was met with a dismissive attitude and told, "We deal with the insurance company, not the customer." I explained that we weren't planning to go through insurance--and that's when they hit me with the breakdown: a tow charge, a mysterious "labor" charge (which couldn't be clearly explained), and daily holding fees. When I asked what the "labor" charge was for--wasn't that part of the tow fee?--the person on the phone simply said it was "for the driver." To add insult to injury, she told me, "If you hadn't been in an accident, you wouldn't be in this predicament." Completely unprofessional and utterly tone-deaf. In the end, I had no choice but to involve my insurance company. Even they were shocked--my representative said they don't see these kinds of inflated fees in Boston or New York, let alone rural New Hampshire. This is nothing short of price gouging, and it's clear that S & P Auto is more interested in squeezing every possible dollar out of a situation than in offering fair, honest service. Make no mistake--this isn't just about the insurance company footing the bill. Predatory pricing like this eventually affects the customer through higher premiums. Companies like S & P Auto don't care about that. They're out to take advantage of people in stressful situations. Terrible service. Outrageous pricing. Avoid this business at all costs.
