Our friends who are locals brought here to eat the Cartoccio. They have been eating at this spot for many years. Way before the beach was developed for tourists. Raffaele is both a cafe and restaurant. It's super casual with a beautiful view to the sea. We were there on a quiet night. The owners know our friends so we didn't even order from the menu. Chef decided on the menu for the evening. We enjoyed everything we ate. For antipasto we had fried anchovy, stewed octopus served in a bread bowl and a seafood misto of razor clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, octopus. It was delicious! The Cartoccio was the reason why they brought us here. Cartoccio is spaghetti (or any dish) cooked in either a paper pouch or foil. This was spaghetti with mixed seafood and tomato. It was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. For dessert we had the famous Ricotta in a jar from Sal de Riso. If you're in the area I recommend you visit the Sal de Riso bakery in Minori.
Four stars for super slow service. There were only three other tables, so I can't imagine how they manage on a busy night. Other than that- the food was fresh, simple and tasty! read more
