I called the number listed on the website and spoke with Lisa Lloyd who was unbelievably abrupt with me. She sounded very frustrated and stated she would call me back. I guess she was having a bad day. I continued to conduct my research. She left a message and I called back. I explained to her that I was looking around and gathering data and wanted an estimate. She was impatient and her tone was terse. I heard her sigh repeatedly through the conversation. She asked for my square footage, stated that was all she needed. (It is just under 1, 400 and that includes unfinished space.) She stated she would email me an estimate. She did. Their inspections services are sold in "packages" the lowest being almost $500., the highest almost $1,400.00. They offer added services and "alliances with many vendors on services you may need as a homeowner. " She recommended a $730. package plan, that is higher than most of the inspection services I contacted ($350. - $450. was the consistent quote for a home like mine, square footage etc., with all of the same accreditations and reports). When I asked her to help me understand why her rates were almost double what I had gathered, she became very defensive and hung up on me. Maybe she was having a bad day. Or two, or several. I don't know. I do know that is a lot of money for a home inspection. I do know that I don't have any appreciation for the way she treated me. The company might be a great one - I'll never get the opportunity to find out- but the experience I had was very negative and the way I was treated I won't forget.

We used Tory with Protect the Investment for our home inspection. The inspection day itself seemed…read morethorough and Tory seemed very knowledgeable, and he found a couple interior issues that were helpful for us after we closed on the house. We paid extra for a mold test that would take a couple of days, but after a couple of weeks, never heard back with the results. Our realtor had to reach out to Tory as we were WALKING IN to our closing appointment to have him send the mold test results. Then, a few months after moving in, we found out that there was a pretty significant issue with the roof - and no photos of the roof on our inspection report. We've attempted to get in contact with Tory several times, at several phone numbers and emails, over the past 3+ to ask if he has any additional photos of the roof from our inspection that he didn't include on our report and have gotten no reply. While they did fly a drone up to look at the roof during the inspection, apparently they did not look very closely, go up on the roof, or take any photos. We would not recommend trying to work with Tory or PTI.
