I've "lived" here for almost a year with next to nothing because the money I had to furnish this place has been going toward repairs I was unaware of. Asbestos Project Management (APM) recently tested for the presence of asbestos in a residential…read moreproperty of interest to me. I chose APM because it is a fully licensed, well-established family owned and operated business that has all five-star consumer ratings with Yelp and Google. Also, in researching potential companies I determined that APM's cost for their service was very reasonable. I dealt directly with the owner Brett Keller who was extremely accommodating with regard to setting up an appointment date for the test that would work for me. At the scheduled time and day (Friday) Brett met me at the property driving his work truck. It was in pristine condition and when Brett retrieved his equipment from the enclosed truck bed, I noticed that everything was clean, well-organized, and properly secured. Brett then sampled the suspect material and explained to me that the sample would be submitted to an independent lab for analysis, which was standard procedure done to ensure the integrity of the results. He said that because the lab wasn't operational over the weekend, I would not get the results of the analysis until approximately 4:00 p.m. the following Monday. Brett then unhurriedly detailed to me what the abatement process would entail should asbestos be present and I elected to have APM handle the work. The following Monday at approximately 1:00 p.m. I received from Brett an email containing a complete chain of custody document tracking the acquisition of the sample and its submission to the lab as well as the results of the analysis. Fortunately, the analysis was negative for the presence of asbestos. I was completely satisfied with APM's high-quality service and give it my strongest recommendation.

Our condo is new and clean, I did not look super sick so I almost felt like I had to justify myself why I'm worried about mold. Like what are my symptoms, could it be from something else? Could the mycotoxins found in my urine be from food instead? Those were questions I was asked by the inspector before the inspection even started. Once I told him about the water leakage in our bathroom, he missed the still wet spot. He didn't rule there might mold behind the ceiling but overall didn't seem very concerned. We later cut out the drywall and found mold on the other side of the drywall and in the insulation. We mostly had this inspection done to confirm and gain deeper knowledge on what we already knew. I might be wrong but my impression is that if I wouldn't have had all this knowledge already - past water leak in the bathroom and still partially wet, elevated mycotoxin levels in urine - and let's say we had just the mold inspection done to rule out mold as the root cause of some of my health issues, the inspection would have come back with no findings. And I would have moved on missing the root cause of my issues.
