Knowledgeable and experienced crew. Thorough and well done radon mitigation system installation.read more

Just be careful. The exhaust system itself seams to be installed and working just fine. The initial…read moresump pump that was installed ended up "failing" a few months after installation though and flooding out our finished basement ($5k in damages). We assumed it was just a bad pump which I would never blame on the installer. They were great with agreeing to come out and install a new one. We even paid them install a backup system shortly after so this would never happen again. A few months later we got a notification that the primary sump pump wasn't working AGAIN. Luckily we had the backup pump installed and we didn't have another flood. We decided to bring in a licensed plumber. He looked things over and told us that the sump wasn't installed as it should have been so we had an airlock in the main pump. Looking back at the second "failure" it was likely the same thing happened with the first pump that caused the flood. We have been in communication with them and asked for a reasonable refund on the installation of the second pump (we asked for nothing related all the damage caused by the first failure). They maintained that they did nothing wrong. We are still waiting on the refund. I know they install a ton of these systems, and it sounds like this isn't common (according to them). Maybe we just got unlucky with having two sump pumps fail in the matter of a couple months. And that the licensed pumper was incorrect with his assessment of how it should have been installed. Maybe. But I just wanted to mention to be careful with the sump pump installation if you decide to go with them.

Our realtor supplied us with a list of inspectors nearby in Wisconsin. We looked through the list…read moreand decided to contact John from Pillar To Post Home Inspectors. We are extremely satisfied with the inspection John did for us on the home we were interested in purchasing. He did an amazing job and went beyond what we expected. Not only was he very thorough and knowledgeable, he was very responsive and communication was quick - answering emails late at night and scheduling our home inspection within 48hrs of notice. Upon arriving to the home we realized neither of us had a way to enter the home (our relator was not with us). Instead of waiting, he did not waste any time and started the inspection outside while we contacted our realtor on a way to get into the home. In summation, we felt like his detailed report helped us determine if the home was right for us or not. His explanation and walkthrough during the inspection provided us with valuable things to look for in our next house. He also provided us with a binder to keep records of the home if the home purchase was successful. We would absolutely use him again!

Then he gave her a binder for us, but also sent us a email including everything he told her and pictures to show us exactly what he was talking about. They were very reasonably priced, were so thorough you would have thought it was their own house. I could not recommend a better company for a job well done. I will use them again in the future if I buy another house.

When I met the inspector at our house after the 2 hour limit and he was standoffish and rude…read more His convenience for the inspection seemed to be his main concern. He left the radon unit in the basement without consulting the home owners (me) about where and placed it right in the middle of a counter top next to the printer. So we had to work around it while packing which was very inconvenient. His main concern was the packer game not when we get the radon unit out of the house and the inspection report. On top of that he had the audacity to challenge my wife about opening a window because she burned the toast and wanted to air out the basement. Then to top it all off we didn't get the inspection report for 4 days. Inspection was on Friday and report came in on Tuesday. This held up all the real estate progress for 3 different house deals. Kent is not professional, his report was average, his turn around time is piss poor. Also he wrote down that he couldn't find any of our carbon monoxide detectors or fire detectors and we literally have 1 in every room and 2 in some (carbon and fire separate). Sitting here in my living room I can see 3 of them 1 on the stairs, 1 in the kitchen and 1 in the living room. Literally you would have to try hard to not see them. I would recommend Five One Home Inspections. Mike was prompt, polite and gave me a 57 page report on the house. http://www.fiveonehomeinspections.com/

He challenged answers we gave to his questions about the electrical box (that was disclosed on the listing), the radon mitigation system, and work we had done in the attic to remove mold. He also proceeded to go through and read papers I had sitting on the counter. I did not appreciate the stare downs any time he spoke to me and the attempt to make me and my husband feel dumb in our own home. Had this been a contractor we hired to come into our home, he would have gotten thrown out.
