Price. Expect to pay $80-$110 per night for a double bed in off season (April 2017 through hotels.com). Some rooms have double beds and others have two singles. Extra rollaway beds can be added for ~250 SEK per night. Rooms were clean and incredibly spacious. In room safe, 42"+ LCD tv, desk, small table and two chairs. Recently upgraded rooms on 6th floor. Rooms on 5th floor appear to be in need of a refresh. "Family rooms" available with twin size chair that folds out into extra bed. The one we saw on the 5th floor was outdated and had a funky smell. Turns out that the rooms that are not upgraded are "standard rooms" and the nicer rooms are considered "superior". We were not charged for the upgrade.
Breakfast: breakfast is included in the rate and it's fantastic. Cereals, fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, cheese galore, fresh meat slices, smoked salmon, sausages, bacon, eggs, omelette bar, yogurts, fresh juice, smoothies, virgin Bloody Mary's, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and every imaginable milk you can think of. It keeps going and going. Friendly staff.
Well, not really bad per se, this is a hotel that's tucked back in an industrial area just a few miles from city center, catering to business travelers. Bus #67 stops directly in front of the hotel and takes you to Solna Train/Metro station where you can travel easily to Stockholm Station. From here, you can catch the subway network. The hotel sells single use travel cards to get you to Solna and beyond and are good for ~75 minutes. Cost is ~45 SEK. Travel passes can be purchased at Solna for 24 or 72 hours. Kids 6 and under are free and seniors 64 and older travel at the discounted rate (as do children 7 and older). If you plan on making more than two trips per day, then a pass is the way to go.
Parking is 150 SEK and available in a subterranean parking garage. Park on the 1st or top level and be sure to not park in spaces designated for businesses that are connected to the hotel that share the parking garage. You must pay at the self service machine and place the ticket on your dash. They will ticket you!! Upon check in, I was told that the machine was not working and that I'd be added to a list. Apparently that did not happen, so when we left for dinner after an incredibly expensive day of sightseeing, I was welcomed with a 300 SEK parking violation. Hopefully the hotel will rectify but in all reality, if I leave the violation on the window, I'll be ahead 150 SEK after our three night stay. Relax... I was joking. read more
