Gorgeous swags, ornaments, wreaths, etc. I come here for lots of different craft things, and home decor. They also have lots of fabric choices, custom framing as well as ready to buy frames of all sizes and designs, lots of artist paints and brushes, beads for jewelry, great party supplies...I could go on and on. But for the last 11 years Steve and his motley crew have been changing that in this this brightly lit well stocked gaming shop. The selection here here is well varied and fairly priced. There is a nice selection of vintage pinball machine. One nice thing about this shop is if you are looking for a gift for someone but don't know the gaming field yourself - Steve has some very approachable and knowledgeable staff that are willing and able to help get what you need and want. Especially the main store manager who is sort of like Mel Brooks Character from Spaceballs - Yogurt, the wise and powerful keeper of the "up-side" of the Schwartz. He will guide you to the up-side and right side of whatever game you want to explore.

It wasn't until I hit a couple of the other Michaels' locations in the state that I realized how awesome this particular location is. The staff here has never been anything other than great. They're usually busy with stuff, so they aren't particularly amazing at *seeking* you out to ask how you're faring, but if I've ever approached one of them with questions about how to do a craft or where to find something, they seem really happy to help and usually will take me to the exact spot. Most of the employees seem super knowledgeable about various crafts too. The store itself is super clean and modern, too. It's a relatively new building, and it shows. Everything is always in its place, and while it might take a bit to find exactly where I think something should be, I always go "of course it's right there!" when I figure out what section it's in. The bathrooms are really clean, and the employees seem to do a fantastic job of cleaning up errant items. When I've occasionally put down a couple of my items to use the restroom, I'll come back to find them cleaned up already. (Which is annoying, admittedly, but still, great attention to cleanliness on the part of the staff) Check-out is the only time where you might have to wait a bit. The staff is always good about calling for back-up when the lines get long, but just due to the coupons and the usually-tiny nature of items that people pick up, it can take a little bit for each person in line to check-out. Like all hobby stores (which I still find to be an odd practice), Michaels offers 40% or 50% off various parts of the store on different weeks. You can usually wait out for particular sections to go on sale in order to take advantage of the better prices (though baking supplies seem to be very rarely discounted). Every week, they usually have a 40/50% off any regularly-priced item coupon available on their website that you can use, and on special occasions, they run one-day sales where you can get 20% off your total purchase including sale items. I'll admit Hobby Lobby is a bit bigger and has a better selection of various things due to the larger store. However, I've always found that Michael has a whole lot better selection, and it's open on Sunday. (Plus, depending on your political views, shopping at Michaels means not supporting Hobby Lobby)

It's got a wide variety of items. I popped in on a Saturday evening and perused the shop. There are so many unique items, all priced appropriately. I was impressed to overhear a regular customer pop in and chat with the staff. There is definitely a sense of community at this shop. My daughter saw a daffodil Lego set and was thrilled have it purchased for her. (You're welcome.) It's cool that they have board game night (Thursdays) and that you can come play a board game yourself anytime during the day. On the same note-- if you have an old board game you can sell it here. You can now sell your used games in our store. To do this simply follow these few steps. You set the price and once it is sold you get 80% of that price as store credit. The coolest thing about The Hobby Corner is that they will order anything for you if you can't find it in the store-- at NO additional cost!

We went to check out the store for fun anyway. We were not greeted when we came in even though we were the only people in the store. We found his exact vehicle in the store. He pointed to the part he needed and the guy didn't even look, just said, "we don't have it." We left and my white brother-in-law called and reminded them of the day he had purchased the same part. He had them set it aside for us and we returned. my husband bought the $48 part and asked if they could install it. It was clear they didn't want to do it and he was given a very vague answer of how they were too busy even though there were no other people in the store. My husband paid for the part and left. Whether they were just lazy or racist we don't know but either way, the service was terrible.
