Turns out his "BMW Inspection II" had very little to do with BMW's "BMW Inspection II". Example - He will not replace spark plugs. Also tried to sell me a tranny flush for a slushbox that has lifetime fluid. Final straw was when he came to look at the car, asked me to pop the hood, and said "oh man - I didn't realize this was the V6 M3! This one costs a lot more to work on" (BMW uses an inline configuration in all their 6cyl engines, and never put anything but a 6cyl in the E36 M3). If I know that, then someone who claims to be a BMW specialist had damn well better know that too! Moral of the story: Never go to a BMW shop that doesn't have a single BMW (or foreign car of any variety) in the bays, and you get what you pay for!

Scott's Body Shop, Santa Cruz, CA A freak accident occurred…read moreto our new 2021 Honda CR-V that was parked and was hit by a driverless van on Thanksgiving morning, November 25. Thankfully no one was hurt in the accident. We were visiting our daughter in Felton from our home 450 miles away in Southern California. A State Farm accident claim was filed on November 26 by the owners of the driverless van. We had to choose a Certified State Farm Auto Body Shop in the Santa Cruz area unfamiliar to us. We selected Scott's Body Shop to estimate the costs of and to repair our vehicle. As it turns out it was a very good selection. We cringed at the thought of facilitating a repair from 450 miles away and the resultant nightmare. Fortunately our fears were unfounded. We discovered Scott's Body Shop personnel to be both courteous and communicative with compassion for us from afar. Bobby was in continuous contact with us throughout the ordeal. We had no idea how much damage to our car he eventually uncovered. Bobby took us forward on each step of discovery from the initial $6K estimate of repair suggested by the State Farm representative to the final "tear down" estimate in excess of $26K by Scott's Body Shop. This final estimate of repair was judged by State Farm as a TOTAL loss. The process took longer for State Farm to move the car from a storage lot post-accident to Scott's location [8 days at a distance of 8 miles] than for Bobby's team to bring the total estimate of repair forward to State Farm [4 days]. Bottom line .... Scott's Body Shop had the customer in mind by expediting the cost of repair to minimize our anxiety to the final decision to repair or a TOTAL loss. No, I did not have the opportunity to experience the quality of repair work that we believe Scott's would ultimately provide. I did however experience the professionalism exhibited by Bobby, General Manager and Jayne, Administrator as we navigated through the process of auto repair from a distance of 450 miles. The process was complete in a matter of 18 days. We went from a totally inoperative damaged automobile to a sense of normalcy with the purchase of an identical replacement vehicle.

My insurance told me about Scotts Body Shop and took my Honda there to be repaired. From the moment I stepped in to there office, they treated me like a valued, longtime customer, even though this was my first time there. Their estimate on repairs was reasonable and within scope for my insurance. Also, their estimate on repair time and delivery was spot on! Important note- Anyone having their vehicle repaired must keep in mind that delays are often due to parts availability and set their expectations appropriately. Fortunate for me, there were no delays and my delivery was at the time estimated. Scotts sets realistic expectations. I appreciate them coming to pick me up at home for delivery of my vehicle. Washed, vacuumed and they even treated the dashboard! All in all, if I could give 6 stars, Scotts would have it. They really go the extra mile. They are the go to body shop in Santa Cruz County.
