The Rainbow City location is so jam packed it can actually be hard to walk though and look at their stuff. If you're into team gear (Bama and what ever that other team is) they have a really expansive dedicated space for shirts, coats, hoodies, and misc gear. Just like other department stores they have a good selection of men's, women's and children clothing as well as some household items. Shoe department looks like they are still adding stuff in and will probably grow over the next couple months. Several spots to check out make it nice and easy .... plus help to keep lines down. Also, as of January 2021 you aren't able to enter on the Books A Million side, you have to park on the Belk/Food Court side and enter through those doors. Recommended for clothing shopping.

They have a lot of wonderful casual shoes for men and women, and some great brands, like Yellow Box and Merrille, and most wonderful of all, they have good prices on them. I loved their selection, and the women who worked there were helpful in the extreme. I had them running back and forth bringing me different shoes in different sizes for an hour, and they were continually cheerful and never resentful. Call me crazy, but in the end I bought 6 pairs of shoes, including sandals and wedgies -- and my friend bought 8 pairs! This is not something we normally do; I've never bought more than 2 pairs of shoes at once in my life! But I bought 6, and I'm not at all sorry, because they were so cute and such an incredible bargain (a half-price sandals sale was going on). Check out this wonderful shoe store. You may be as surprised and pleased as I was.

They have pretty good prices in general when comparing with some of the other big box stores that sell similar items. If you're looking for anything sporting goods related Academy is always a great choice and should be top on your list for checking out....there is a good chance they will have a larger selection, more brands, to choose from at different quality points. Check them out, if you're interested in sporting good items, you'll be a fan.

By far one of the worst companies I have ever purchased from. They sent me a pool cleaner with…read moremissing parts. I could not exchange at the Gadsden because none were in stock. I called customer service and they wanted to charge me full price and shipping which I told them was not acceptable. They sent me a defective vacuum from another store. I get the the new one and attempt take the other one back. It had been in the pool for approximately 1 minute before we realized the part was missing. Lady working the counter at the Gadsden store was a bit of a snot and that's being kind. They refused to take back the vacuum back. They told me I have to call the manufacturer to get a letter so they can refund me. This stores corporate return policy is absolutely the worst. If you buy something and it's not right somehow it becomes your problem. I would not recommend buying from Academy unless you have money you don't mind wasting.

They have men's and women's and children's sections, but they also try to put all the active wear together as well as the dress clothes, etc. They also carry the same type of household items you'd expect to find at one of these stores. I felt like they had similar brand name items as the other stores, but just not the same selection. I would guess they may have been getting a little picked over since it was close to the holidays, so they probably deserve another shot. I'd come back and check them out if I was in the area again.

I haven't see any major pile up of stock or trash. The workers aren't outgoing with their customer service, but most TJ Maxx employees are busy stocking or checking out customers. I think the prices are also a reasonable value compared to other locations.

Really well done and makes customers feel very welcome while in the store. Plus one star for the excellent customer service. Store itself is really nice and focuses on men's clothing. From casual (t-shirts) to suit jackets - they have a little bit of everything. Prices pretty much run the gambit. They have sale price items that are exceptionally reasonable - they have items that I would classify as avg - they have item's I'd consider to be a little on the high side. Long way of saying - prices for virtually every budget. Very pleased that we stopped in here and checked out what they had. We will definitely stop in here again in the future (if we are in the area). Highly recommend this to anyone out doing some men's clothing shopping.

Something about this store just feels better than other locations. It always seems to be very clean and even though it's organized just like all the other locations I've been in over time, it just seems to have more space available to display the products. Just like all the other locations they have Men's, Women's, Children's, Household items, and occasionally a mixture of other items (exercise, toys, jewelry, etc.) Typically not a lot of staff working so check out can take a few minutes, but that's really about the only negative. Also, keep in mind that selection varies a lot even from store to store and changes up based on what the current season is.

I deducted one star (and I wanted to deduct 100 stars) because of the fitting room situation. They moved it to the front of the store, two tiny cubicles and we had to wait forever in line to try stuff on! That was from before Christmas until last month. The most recent trip I noticed there was the regular fitting rooms in the back (which are plentiful) were open with an attendant. So I'm not giving the star back but at least I didn't deduct 100 ... so that's fair I think! Typically the attitude going in here should be "I'm just looking" as it's hit or miss when you have something very specific in mind.
