There is a certain charm about this hole in the wall bar establishment that has kept me coming back over the course of the 5 years of me being stationed in Jacksonville. Just like any spot you go around with frequency everyone knows your name. It really didn't matter what time I went around there because someone I knew always ended up coming in for a little. As long as you are friendly and make an effort to meet the others that hang out here you will have no problems having your own little new group of friends. Tony owns a great spot here. This is the best karaoke bar in North Carolina. They have an outside bar that is open when there is good enough weather and an inside bar that somehow always maintains the ability to be maneuverable no matter how packed it gets on the weekends. They have a drink special almost every night of the week and free pool once a week on the two pool tables located inside. I've never gotten involved with the dart league they have but there is one available to sign up for. They also have an electronic dart board that my group usually takes over on the weekends while everyone takes turns going up to sing. They do have snacks at the bar and small tombstone type pizzas, popcorn, and corn dogs. From what my experience is they serve until it gets too busy which usually isn't until the later hours. The main bar inside usually has 2 bartenders on the weekends and one at the outside "Paddy-O". I've never had a bad experience or had to wait too long for a drink. As long as you speak clearly and are polite you'll never have a problem ordering. Jaime, Jera, Marilyn, Sheldon, and Charlie are usually the ones working on the nights I go and I wouldn't have it any other way. The parking situation is pretty good but make sure you get there a little earlier on weekends or you'll park in the grass or along the road on the side. That isn't a bad thing but I prefer parking on the actual asphalt. I will be moving out of the area soon and will definitely miss the bar and the community. It's just one of those places I have a ton of memories of friends that have come and gone throughout the years and am glad I found this spot. There is a ton more I can write about this place so all I will say is that you just need to visit. I will say that if you are going for the first time I would bring a friend or two along because you can't go wrong. If you don't have fun it's because you probably just don't know how to.

I walked in by myself one afternoon and was immediately welcomed by a bar full of regulars and a warm and friendly bartender. I got a "hey come on in", "welcome", "I like your sweater", "this seat is open!" Right off the bat. A few local patrons "adopted" me as one of their own, even though I was just in town visiting. Drinks are cheap. And there is an outdoor area for smoking, with heat lamps in the winter. It is predominantly a Steelers bar (football), and it's where a lot of active and retired Marines go to let loose. Pool tables, darts, and video trivia are available too! The bar tenders were all friendly and efficient. They did not bat an eye when I ordered my strange metal show cocktail (whiskey and redbull).
