However, as soon as I left the shop, they removed the tires and never put air back in them. My car has Run-Flat tires, which can be damaged very easily when driven without proper air pressure. Thank God I turned around quickly. I had not washed my car until today, September 30th, and that's when I noticed that one of the tires was missing one of the special Mercedes-Benz wheel-lock nuts. I immediately went back to the shop to explain what had happened and ask where the missing lug nut was. The owner--I don't know his name--was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Instead of trying to help me resolve the issue, he simply told me that he would "see if he could help me." The special lug nut was never found. Instead, he gave me a generic replacement that was not even remotely the correct Mercedes-Benz part. I would NEVER recommend this place. They do not respect their customers, and their employees are not careful when removing or reinstalling wheels. NEVER GO THERE.

A little surprising since we hadn't seen any serious issues. We decided to just have an engine light issue repaired and process when to repair the other problems. In the end we had another mechanic check over the issues the Griffis mechanic found. Ended up that two of those issues were not issues at all. What would have been over $1,100 of overcharged, unneeded repairs. Some of the lesser repairs I did myself. I doubt that Griffis was trying to dupe us with unneeded repairs but possibly the mechanic wasn't as experienced as needed. Consequently we're unlikely to use Griffis again.

Greg (the owner) called me back right away, took a few details, and was on his way. He arrived about 20 minutes later, quickly found the puncture, repaired the tire, and provided a receipt. From my initial call to completion, the entire process took about 45 minutes. I was very pleased. Compared to the hassle of using a spare and then going to a tire shop, waiting, and paying for the fix (btw, their prices have gone up) this was zero stress, quick, and very convenient. I was then offered the option to purchase other tires at an additional cost (which felt like a bait-and-switch). I understand that issues can arise, especially during a sale. However, part of good customer service should involve checking inventory before making a customer wait two hours past a scheduled appointment, only to inform them after their old tires have been removed from the vehicle. While at store 1054, I called Pep Boys customer service. I was told my case would be forwarded to a district manager, who would call me back, and was advised to "please monitor my calls." A day later, I am still waiting for that district manager to contact me. What has happened to basic customer service? If it weren't for the customer, businesses would not exist. The customer keeps your doors open, Pep Boys! I received a call at 5:15 PM on December 5, 2025, from Pep Boys Store 1054, notifying me that my tires have arrived and that I can schedule another appointment for installation.
