Still a great TJ's with a good amount of parking and always a good stock of items…read more Everyone is so nice here, & it's the best place to go when it's super hot outside. This last time I got the new TJ POG drinks(passion fruit, orange, and guava). I love the passion fruit tarts here. I also love the dog treats here for my picky pup.

To us, Trader Joe's is for coffee and wine, and some silly treat that catches our eye…read more This Joe's was busy, the aisles were clean, and the staff were nice. Produce was fresh, flowers were fresh. The customers can be a little overly-hurried, especially in the parking lot. I'm not telling you anything you dont know. I said coffee. It surprises me that there is not a whole lot of variety in sourcing and roast-styles. This Joe's has a small coffee section in the back left corner, around 40 options. Somehow the selection seemed rather sparse. Maybe they've been outdone by local roasters. Poor me, right? Well, I saw two dark roasts, and I grabbed 100% Trader-Joe's-brand arabica French roast whole beans. At home, they looked gorgeously shiny and the aroma was rich. They tasted quite good! Fresh and bold without excess acid or bitterness. Ok, Joe's, well-done. We headed for the wine corner, and were rewarded with tiny samples of a smooth whiskey and a fresh nut-mix, offered by a bold fellow with a short distinctively-curly mustache. We scanned the wines and got an inexpensive $5.50 Espiral Portuguese Vinho Verde, a very-light slightly-sparkling slightly-sweet white wine. Typically it's thought of as a summer wine to drink chilled for any non-serious pairing with non-serious food. We like it because, as long as it's not flat and not a noticeably sour brand, vinho verde is a nice year-round evening-blurry treat. And we got some mixed-flowers for a bright reminder of a pleasant shopping experience.

Thorntons is new to Florida until recently. This is the second one to open in the Clearwater/Largo…read morearea in the last few months. It's located on the corner of Starkey Rd and Ulmerton Rd. (1st one is on Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater) What I love about this Thorntons is it's gas price. It's the lowest among the three nearest stations, those being Rallys and Racetrac. New to the area they are the first to lower their price then the other two match it. It's great for the consumer! Also of interest is the newer concept of fast food inside the store. They have quite a variety. Cold ready made sandwiches are in a case, Cuban, Ham and Cheese, Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad to name a few. They have hot sandwiches such as Grilled Chicken, Fish and Cheese, BBQ Rib, and Italian. They have Jumbo Hot Dogs, Polish Sausage, Pepper Jack Sausage, and Spicy Sausage. They also offer hot Tornado's which are similar to burritos without the beans, Meatball Marinara, Southwest Chicken, Cheese Burger, and Pepper Jack Cheese. There is also a fresh condiment station with grated cheese, hot peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Quite a large variety of coffee's too, hot and iced. Different flavored Fizz Freez ( think Slurpee). Assorted fountain drinks any size for 89 cents. So this is the new kid on the block, raising the bar in the gas/fast food/convenience store market. Supposed to be a Wawa's being built on the other corner at this intersection. I love competition, don't you? So why the three stars?........Come on now, it's still a gas station!

Dodges Southern Style rocks, to put it bluntly, this chicken place is bussin, this is my second time over there, the people behind the counter are extremely nice, very helpful, and friendly, their chicken comes fried, baked, regular, and spicy they have egg rolls that are surprisingly good, and they're fried apple pie pies are superb... They remind me of the apple pies that McDonald's served about 40 years ago when they were good. The pies have a nice crunch, a sugar coated exterior , and delicious apple filling inside. They are quite addictive as I've learned. I will be coming back frequently to this chicken oasis since it's only 13 minutes away from where I live. I am very happy that it is.

One star for this station's pumps being available around 3 AM on New Year's Day when the city &…read moreother stations were dark & sealed up tight. And one star because the parking lot was brightly lit. NO additional stars for having the worst pump ever encountered! (AVOID Pump #6.) Except for the one screen that read "Welcome-- Pay credit outside (or) Pay debit outside" (see pic), there were NO other screens (messages) to provide instructions-- NO way to know to put the credit/debit card in, punch the numbers, what key to press, or know when the tank was full. Not even a way to know that the transaction was finished. Couldn't even request a receipt! An absolutely RIDICULOUS pump-- such a sorry state of disrepair! (I guessed on what to press, & will have to check my banking statement to assure I was charged correctly.) So tired of paying high gas prices to businesses that don't do routine upkeep of their pumps & property. I needed to get back to North Tampa & desperately needed gas in the middle of the night. On a regular day & under normal circumstances, I would not return to this business-- EVER. There appeared to be a small convenience store attached. There was a young male worker on the curb enjoying a smoke while I was pumping gas. Due to the area of town, I definitely wouldn't recommend hanging out for any length of time in this part of town @ this time of night. But that may just be me-- as a single female who's former law enforcement, I'm very careful w/ my surroundings. This area didn't feel comfortable.
