In need of a bio break, I decided to use the restroom which was a restroom in the academic sense of the word. I found myself wanted to get out of there quickly. I picked up some beverages on the way out and noticed a large footprint store with lots of drinks, snacks, and gaming machines. The service was kind and friendly. But overall a quick rest stop off the highway. There are some inviting tables and chairs in the locals. Recommend swinging by for snacks and beverages on the go. If you need a bio break, best to keep on rolling.

I did not go inside, so I cannot speak to the friendliness of the staff or the cleanliness of the store, but the outside was clean. Lots of pumps, so it wasn't hard to find one to pull-up next to and pump. It looks to be either fairly new or recently renovated.

Full disclosure: I have a Leaf, so the only time I need gas is when I'm driving Edward L's Jetta. There's a much cleaner Racetrack about a block down the street, but I usually save $.08 - $.11 per gallon of diesel if I redeem points. Under other circumstances I prefer going other places.

The staff is really nice (one time the cashier opened my gas tank for me and started pumping my gas when I was having issues with the pump). They are also usually lower than the other Shells in the area. I just paid $2.99 while the other Shells are at $3.13 (on this specific day). The bathroom was clean and smelled good for a rest stop bathroom. When I went back outside, although my pump was not pumping, there was a leak coming down from the connection that holds the hose to the actual pump. When I noticed this, I thought it was dangerous and important enough to walk back inside and let someone know. The ladies inside were great but sounded like they had heard this before. They said they would put a maintenance ticket in. They apologized and thanked me for coming forward. My issue is that if it is leaking when you are pumping, the pump is not accurate. I did not receive what I was paying for because of the leak.

That's right: you can show up even after 7:15 am on a weekday and still pull right into a reduced-price pump. No need to idle in that line of 20, debating if you should jump the slow pumpers to snag that empty middle space or wait for everybody to pull out at once. And definitely avoid the grumpy spouse telling you to "just do the skip" or talking through the windshield at the person two cars up to "just put the pump away and get back in your car." The reason? Open pumps. It's revolutionary. Meanwhile back at the pumps, the attendants are friendly and keep things clean etc. It's just what the pump doctor ordered and I'm quickly filled up and back on my way to spend 50x the money I save in gas over at the store:). That's not the reason it's a 4-star review though. The reason is because fuel stations shouldn't get 5 stars unless it's a Galt Energy Station (shout-out Ayn Rand). I'd love to continue writing about the fabulous window washing stations and sani-wipe dispensers, but I'm getting pestered to "put the pump away and get back in the car!"
