Needed the infamous IMS bearing replaced on my '04 996 cab and reached out to Solomon. He pinged me back with a quote and recommended that if I wanted to drop it off the next day they would get into it. 3 days later, new LN IMS, clutch, RMS, slave cylinder, spring, O2 diag and fix, oil and filter, cleanup and alignment and my little race car was back in action for the new season and track here in North Texas. AS A BUYER OF CARS, TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION BY RAC PERFORMANCE Recently sold vehicle to this organization as I was contacted by an "investor" of the company. This "investor" paid no sales tax, did not buy at my full asking price, and assured me the vehicle was for his own personal use. Although the transaction was smooth, I found the car soon appeared on the inventory listing of their website at a price many thousands above what they paid me. Not long after that, it was marked as sold - all within about 3-4 weeks after I sold it to them. Clearly their business model is to pluck cars at a bargain price and resell them. Nothing illegal or even wrong with this, but not when you misrepresent your intentions with the car from the outset. Recently, I saw them purchase another 911 on a publicly available auction site and correctly predicted it would appear on their website for sale and was then resold. As I thought I was selling mine to a fellow Porsche enthusiast, I left several items on/in the car that could have been removed and sold separately. I bought a pre-owned 991.1 Turbo S from them and contrary to what I read in other peoples reviews, Tristan was very responsive via email or the phone. I have a tendency to call a lot when I'm going to make a purchase, and he either answered my call right away or called me back very quickly. I had a bunch of things added to my car before I picked it up (illuminated door sills, clear tail lights and a full xPel clear film over the front bumper, hood and fenders) and he coordinated all of it before I picked up the car. Everything was perfect and I am very happy.. On another note, Yelp is asking if they have gender neutral restrooms.. WTF does that have anything to do with a Porsche shop.. Yelp, if you read this note please remove that question please..I suppose if they were located in California that might be a bit more relevant..Besides, the only tranny I have ever seen driving a Porsche was Bruce Jenner:) read more

On Wednesday around 5.45PM my friend and I visited RAC Performance to look at a car. We walked in both wearing masks whilst none of the staff there were wearing their masks, after speaking to one of the sales reps (who was not wearing a mask) he pointed us to the back where the car was, we came across an older man who was washing a car and was not wearing a mask, who we found out is the owner of RAC Hans Hoffman, who got very distraught and started scolding us for our masks not covering our nose properly, long story short he kicked us out of his dealership because we questioned the reason for his anger regarding our masks when his staff and himself did not have their masks on at all. Most horrible experience of our lives and it would have been a little bit more understanding if we didn't have our masks on but that wasn't the case. read more

I called RAC Performance this Morning 6/7/21 and spoke with Michael about a 2010 Porsche Cayman at 10 AM. Put a $1,500 down payment on said car to secure my purchase while I wait for a video of the car which he said would take about an Hour and Half. I waited 2 hours before calling back and continued to call back until 8:40PM to inquire about the video with no answer from ANY of their "Departments". I called 34 times AND Selected Every Option on their Call List with never an Answer, Call Back, Email, or Reply. I set an Email the night Before inquiring about the availability of the car which Micheal had brought up during our conversation to confirm my Email and said it was available. After speaking with Micheal for 20 minutes about the car, he took my contact info and I put down a $1,500 payment towards the vehicle to hold it and I let him know I was buying out right with no bank loan. Then we spoke about paperwork, bank wires and shipping. It was a Guaranteed Sale for Their Asking Price and all I was waiting for was a video and the paperwork. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a business. They took my Money and Couldn't even give a Call Back!! After reading all the negative reviews I truly believe them, Can't wait to see what excuses they use to justify their behavior. BUYERS BEWARE!! Hans is the go-to guy in this area for PPI inspections. He's heavily recommended off Rennlist, 6Speed and PCA groups as the guru. His PPI charges are pretty reasonable, I believe it was somewhere between $300 and $350 (please double check with him). Either way, it's worth every penny. He goes through the car, provides a detailed finding and also does a paint meter report and also provides the over-rev report. He was able to save me from a very costly purchase that I am glad I passed on. Well worth spending a few hundred than buying into a huge headache. I would trust Hans with another PPI. Unfortunately I live in Southern California so I cannot comment on anything other than PPI services. Hans was extremely professional and courteous with any questions I had. I would not reccomend for sales or service. Tristan is a grade A douche, every time he opens his mouth he's lying. Tristan doesn't know the first thing about cars. Ask him air fuel ratio on a turbo, he can't answer. He basically some tool that read enough on the internet to run his mouth. I doubt Tristan can change and air filter with out a YouTube video for help. I made an offer on a car they had sitting for months and it took them a month to get back to me. They want to say they used to be a ruf dealer and ruf conversion shop. However no one is still there from the ruf days. Not to mention Ruf cars are complete junk. Don't buy the hipe that's all it is. I've personally datalogged two of the 13 rt12's in existence. They were both lean, dangerously lean. They were both hack job cars and would never perform on the Autobahn with out a motor going pop. My 997 turbo was serviced here a few times, last time in the shop they stole the Porsche crest off my key. It comes it with a crest on the key, been that way for 3 yrs and suddenly it's gone. Bs they took the crest off the key and tried to charge me.for oil and a filter I provided. 997 turbo never shifted as clean after the clutch job at RAC. They also took a week to do the clutch when I was told 2 days. Overall there's better places to go to for service like Charlie Lacy who knows his stuff at innovative. read more

Awful place to take your car, after getting a check engine light I took my car there to find the issue, first red flag was them trying to charge me double the amount for the wrong part after noticing that I decided to just go pickup my car and get it fixed somewhere else. My one star is for buying. 5 stars for service of my previous 911. Hans is honest, upfront and cares. Tristan and Michael are literally the worst. First of all they're cocky kids, second they seriously give zero shits if they sell an 80k porsche. Don't return phone calls and have a total lack of knowledge on how to service customers buying a high end vehicle. I asked Tristan to meet me at 5pm (albeit was when the shop closed) which was the earliest I could arrive so I could purchase the car. His honest to God response was that he was leaving at 5pm sharp. I told him that I was leaving town the next day on business and wanted to get it done before I left. HE NEVER RESPONDED. So I spent my 80k with another dealership. Now I have to decide if I can continue to support the service department, which I love, with my new car knowing that the sales department is so BAD! Trust me shop elsewhere read more

Absolutely the worst service ever!!!!! They put a new clutch in my car and I got to drive it 9 miles before it broke down. RAC ignored my calls and told me it was a used car and something else probably broke that they had nothing to do with. I had to take my car to the dealership to get it fixed. Saw a Cayman and a 911 they had that interested me so I went over today. Went in and since I didn't see anyone in the front office, I went into the warehouse where they have their cars. Eventually found the cars I was looking for and looked around at some others. Had to pull out a flashlight to see them as it was pretty dark in the warehouse. Went back into the office to see if someone wanted to wait on me, show me the cars in the light, take my money, etc. Was probably in the warehouse and office for 20 minutes and the only guy who spoke to me was a mechanic under a car who was polite and said hi. Seemed really odd that a car sales business didn't have someone interested in showing potential customers the cars. They had a good selection, but it didn't do them or me any good today. read more

They knew the car in-and-out and provided me with confidence to purchase the car from out state. The service they provided was excellent, so much so that I elected to have them do some work on the car (all identified during PPI) before shipping the car to Colorado. I had a fantastic experience here. I was actually looking at another 911 Out of state but decided to go over and check out RAC Performance Before making a deal. I am glad I made that decision. The car I bought was on consignment. The owner knew the car had been wrecked. The CarFax report showed the accident at the time I bought the car BUT I was not shown the CarFax I was shown another report from AutoCheck that did not show the accident. I felt this was very deceptive and when I called to discuss nobody wanted to listen. I lost 3K when I went to sell the car due to the car being misrepresented. Your still not listening and don't care about what happened or you'd be offering to do something about it. I should of sued you guys. read more

I would give them a solid two. During the sales process I delt with Michael for the purchase of my cabriolet S. He was not honest with the condition of the interior. When boldly asked the condition of certain interior aspects i.e. dash buttons and center console he stated the condition to be at or near perfect( once i received the vehicle the center console was cracked, split in several places, a $2000 replacement and dash buttons were clearly worn and guey). The car was serviced by their Porsche techs and two new from tires yet the vehicle is off alignment??!! Another repair that was not properly disclosed. As an out of state buyer, once they know you have an agreed upon price the attention to you the customer is nearly non existent with Michael. I had to reach out several times to him and Tristen to find out why I had not received the title and when I asked for the lug nut key that was removed from the vehicle, again my concerns were not addressed. Nothing like buying a vehicle at a high market price because of the claim that the vehicle was near new condition when in reality I am finding that i will i have to spend another 3k before I can even enjoy it. This is not my first Porsche and will not be my last, but it will be my one and only from RAC..... read more

You guys sold my Ferrari 360. I left my license plates that say "NO JOB" that you were going to store for me to pickup when the car was sold. When I came in, the sales mgr couldn't find them and promised to get back to me. I've called several times asking about the plates and never received a call back. I am a disappointed potential customer. I am a serious buyer for a used Porsche 911. I contacted RAC last week and spoke to Tristan about a Porsche 911 I was very interested in for quite a while. I am from another state, and I wanted to see more pictures of the vehicle, more specifically, pictures of any issues with the car before I made the trip to see it in person. I spoke to Tristan, and he was helpful during the call. He said he would send me pictures the next day. Two (2) days later, I had not received any pictures. I called Tristan that day and left a message asking about the pictures. Four (4) days later after not receiving a return call, I again called Tristan and left him a message about the pictures. I never received a return call. In the meantime, I found another used Porsche 911 locally and purchased it. It has now been more than ten (10) days since my first message, and still no return call. The customer service was extremely disappointing. It cost RAC a sale to a serious buyer. I hope RAC takes steps to improve this situation. I have seen other reviews complaining of the same problem. read more

I had been looking for a Porsche 996 to replace a 2004 that was totaled in an accident in 2014. I searched everywhere and found a top notch 1999 at RAC Performance. For a 17-year old car it is in great shape and RAC did a great job getting it to that point with a number of fixes before putting it up for sale. I now have a really solid car and I'm loving being back behind the wheel of a 911!
