They have a lot of great facilities, weight room, cardio available just lots of stuff. They have this cool, gymnastics area. It's really fun to watch. The cool thing about it is there's a water park available and a swimming pool. The hot tub is really big. They had the cutest little recreational river. It's really small, but it's really relaxing. I saw they had a rock climbing wall as well, and it went pretty high. Amenities are pretty good. Locker room could be a bit cleaner, but it was cool that it was available and they had two different size lockers available as well. Bathrooms were pretty clean. Recommend if you're in the area and you need a gym. Or a fun time with the kids.

During the…read moreCOVID pandemic, we visited often while I was working remotely because they had implemented appropriate measures early on. Today (June 2024), that's obviously is not an issue, but it meant a lot that they would work so hard to stay open during such a challenging time for community recreation centers. I have only spent time at the leisure pool, so I can't speak directly to the rest of the facilities. The leisure pool is excellent. Both the water and the pool deck are warm, which is a great feature for young ones. The family locker rooms are clean and there are 3 private shower rooms for young children. The leisure pool has a small slide for children under 4, water cannons, waterfall buckets, a lazy river, a water slide, and a hot tub. We have been able to visit both as guests of a local resident and as non-residents. Obviously the non-resident day pass is more expensive, but I would say it's reasonable, especially for a place where kids can easily spend 2-4 hours and get a nice warm shower.

I've been going into the Chelson Center for about six weeks now. I have a electric trike, I was…read moregiven permission to plug the electric trike in in the lobby area of the Chelson Center when I first got my 10 time pass. So I had been parking my bike near the vending machines in the lobby area because I was given permission to plug my electric trike in at that area. So yesterday, which I guess was July 15 maybe anyway so I arrive and there's this new person at the reception area a woman I had never seen before. She glare at me as I am pushing my electric trike into the lobby and plugging it in within five minutes. This male employee approaches me. I then communicate to this mail employee that I have given permission to plug my electric trike again and I have been doing this for approximately six weeks now. I then got my cooler out of the back after I plugged the electric trike in and put the lock on it. I then got my cooler and I went out to the Chelson Center lawn. I found a bench to eat my lunch. I was approached by the same male employee that had approached me when I was plugging in the trike, he stated you cannot leave the trike unattended. You must be in the building as long as I was in the building and the trike was fine being charged in the lobby so I gathered up my stuff went inside when you recorded everything back on the bike. Got what I needed to go into the locker room. As I was undressing the same female employee with curly hair that I've never seen before comes into the locker room. Seek me out gives me a dirty look and leaves. At this point, I'm so stressed out they have been harassing me and I don't know what changed. I have been plugging my electric track in for approximately six weeks. Another employee female employee with long dark curly hair and glasses comes into the locker room. She then starts bullying me telling me I can't plug in my bike. That's not the rules I cannot do it. Oh my gosh how dare I. She then states that OK she'll allow me to leave it plugged in for today no longer can I do it though. She leaves I was brought to tears like literally I started sobbing. I have been attacked all morning twice by the male employee the same male employee and then two different women attacked me in the locker room verbally bullying me about my electric trike. They all acted like I was raking a law and oh my gosh how dare I? How dare I how dare I. When once again, I'm going to state, I had been plugging in my electric trach for approximately 4 to 6 weeks at the same area in the same lobby that I was given permission. And then was I'm plugging the electric trike, taking the lock off and this other mail employee comes up to me, Steven and asks if he can help me take my bike out of the doors because I needed assistance because the doors don't open up very wide. I said to him you have been the kindest person to me today and I really appreciate it. I then started telling him about all the bullying that I had been experiencing that day by these employees and that I had not done anything different than I have been doing the last 4 to 6 weeks that I was given permission by the staff to plug my electric try again. He listened and he was very kind. I then got the courage to ask to speak to a manager. And low boy, hold the woman with a long, dark curly hair and the glasses is the manager that comes out and then said to another male employee no, I don't wanna talk to her. I'm going to complain about her. She's one of the people that bullied me about something that I had gotten permission to do. I want you to hear that People I got permission to plug in my trike and I had been doing it for 4 to 6 weeks. This was bullying. This was harassment. I am 67 years old on disability in Long-term Care. I did not deserve this. Nobody deserves this. This is unacceptable. -10 stars

It has a nice parking area, but smaller than the other two. Still found a nice spot. Inside, the greeters were friendly and explained the layout. Again unlike the other two, North had a weight room separate from the weight machines. It was interesting to see a large area dedicated to dumbbells and barbell presses. The other, larger area had nice windows and the pulley machines. I found it a great place to workout and though it was Saturday, not too busy. They have a lot of machines. I do wish the weight room had some more ventilation. I'll be back soon and check out the pool!

It's been a long time since I visited the North Boulder Rec Center. It's fairly far from my house…read morebut they have a lot of nice programs. Decades ago my younger son took gymnastic classes there. My husband has used their pool for Scuba trip prep swims to test out their equipment. Also my kids and many of their friends had birthday party events there in the 80s. A friend of mine invited me to stop in and try out their fitness classes for seniors. The program is free to us, though most of the participants have some form of support from their medicare supplement policy (Silver Sneakers membership) and I assume that benefit supports the program financially. Nothing is ever "free" in the sense that it is just like being out in nature. There is a large building and many staff to support. All the staff we met in the process of signing up and get information on programs were very pleasant, efficient and supportive. The teacher of the class was a very positive and talented young woman who clearly understood her participants very well. The music was such fun. Some was the a similar play list to what I had in classes in the late 80s & early 90s, when I last took an indoor fitness program at other locations under the Jazzercize label. Many disco dance songs, new in that era, retro classics now. Also some pop songs of the 60s for some of us and cool down relaxing folk and ballads focus too. I was surprised yet pleased to hear Joan Baez "Diamonds and Rust" unique to a class like this I think. Parking is a bit complicated at the center, as the lot out front has very small spaces and is filled quite early in the day, but there is more room along the sides with slightly larger spaces and now that we know that, we will try there first next week.

I think they have a daycare center with the outdoor play area which is nice. They have bike racks for your bike. Bus stop in the back next door to Main Street and a nice big town park. My son ran in before practice at the park next-door to use the restroom and the front desk said we had to pay so I had to pay for my son to use the restroom. I thought that was definitely upsetting considering the fact that were residence and long time customers. This week is LGBTQ Pride week, and I am NOT HAPPY with the Longmont fire hydrant situation…read more They are currently painted red and white, and I believe there should be designated rainbow-colored fire hydrants, for dogs with gender identity issues. I called Longmont Public Safety chief, Mike Butler, concerning this issue, and he wasn't helpful AT ALL. I told him my dog doesn't like to squat when she pees--she likes to lift her leg, and I needed to know that she is free to pee at the fire hydrant of her choice, without fear of discrimination. Mr. Butler said that as far as he knew, Longmont TREES were transgender, so what was the problem? Mr. Butler didn't give a rip about equal rights for dogs to use the fire hydrant of their choice, regardless of gender identity.
