Great place to take your grandkids or children swimming. Mine loved it. Nice an enclosed so I could keep an eye on all of my kids.

I've been a member for over a year, and this is without a doubt the best gym I've ever joined. Why?…read more The people. The space. The vibe. The offerings. The responsiveness. The community. The people who work at Raintree often remember my name, welcome me in, and help with any issues that come up for me. The people who work out here come in a range of ages and body types, and are friendly and thoughtful about helping keep the space nice for whoever is coming in next. The space is well organized into sections that feel private and very functional. The yoga space is very zen. There are a few hangout areas that include couches, or tables and chairs, and feel very home like. The recovery room is quiet and dimly lit. There are several spaces with weights and weight machines and each have their own personality. The track is perfectly located to make it easy to include the sled and/or a warm up or cool down lap along with weight lifting. The vibe is consistent and reminds me of being in a spa. Not hooty tooty, but rather, like I have a rich friend who has invited me over to their gym and is glad I've come over! The gym always smells nice and fresh, is clean and welcoming, and has good music on at exactly the right volume. It's easy to walk around as the paths to places are well delineated. And, I always feel like I belong. The offerings, responsiveness and community all resonate deeply with me. Currently I am focusing on prepping for the DEKA, and Raintree has classes, trainers and the equipment I need to prep for this. I am also working on becoming more centered and lowering my cortisol, and the yoga classes and sound bath class are really helping me achieve better sleep, less stress and more feeling connected to my body and heart than I have in a very long time. The variety of equipment and my amazing personal trainer, Kelly, have helped me achieve so many of my personal fitness goals without getting injured, including a 4 day back pack trip with some girlfriends while carrying 40 pounds. I am currently working with Kelly to compete in my first DEKA and to do a pull up. I will leave you with one last example to demonstrate the extra mile this amazing space goes to to help me meet my personal goals as well as to feel very cared for. The other day I came in and asked Chad how I could measure out 100 meters so I could practice for the DEKA. He told me he would measure it out for me. So literally, I went to my yoga class and he got my spaces all measured out and ready to go!

I don't know if I would give this place three stars maybe 2.5. Sorry but this gym is getting…read moreovercrowded and nobody who works here seems to want to clean shit or even fill the steam room bottle even when it's sitting outside empty. Take a hint people and also maybe pick up trash and hair and all the gross crap that's laying around the pool area and the gym and the locker rooms. And maybe get some air fresheners in the locker rooms they smell like a sweaty a-hole.

I was promised my money back for lessons I purchased on-line but was unable to use because of their mover, and I've never received a dime of it. I have been a customer of Eager Beaver Swim School for 5 months (June 2011 through October 2011)…read more When we first signed up in June there were parents whispering on the sidelines that getting out of swimming lessons was a mess of hurdles and fine print policies that screw you over. This is exactly what is happening to me. My daughter is willful and the coach is taking a "break your spirit" approach my 4-year old. We had to give 30-day notice to withdraw. I have withdrawn her from classes, but the coach was sick early in October. Instead of quickly communicating a plan for rescheduling the makeup class, he has dragged his feet on it. Now that it is November 1st and she is "no longer on the insurance" he is refusing to refund me for the missed session, but he is offering a credit. I have to enroll her (i.e. pay another month) to get the $15 I already paid for. He had 20 days to reschedule the makeup and now I am trapped in the fine print to get the service I paid for in advance. And of course there is a strict "no refund" policy. Now why would I want to pay for 3 more classes just to get the 4th I'm owed especially when my kid doesn't like being in the activity? This is the official policy of Eager Beaver Swim School... you are stuck in your contract but I am not. I have seen him turn 2 1/2 year-olds into little fish and seen him work patiently and kindly with children who have water anxieties, but if your kid just isn't comfortable in the water or willful, he won't make it fun.

Not the greatest experience. It's been a while and I'm still annoyed, so here's the story…read more I needed a carbon fiber scba tank filled so visited the shop with high hopes. Dude looked at the tank and asked if it had a visual inspection. Nope. Not required. Just hydro every 5 years. Last test in May 2024. Dude agreed DOT doesn't require visual, but he does. Annoying, but I agreed to leave the tank overnight for his $20 visual. I mentioned it was a high pressure cylinder. Dude said yeah, looks like 4500 psi. He didn't indicate that would be a problem. No call after 2 days so went to pick up the tank. The young lady helping me wasn't rude, just markedly unfriendly. She looked at the tag and said, "OK. Just the hydro, then." "You mean the visual?" "Same test. We just call it that." It's not the same, but whatever. She looked at the tag again and said it didn't need the visual after all. Yeah, that's what I told dude. Did you want it filled? Yeah, that was the point. The tank has a gauge to show remaining psi. It was at 3600, pretty close to the pressure it was when I brought it in. Stern young woman explained it depends on their bank pressure, which I understand, but would have been nice to know when I dropped it off...or I wouldn't have left it to be filled. That'll be $54. That's ridiculous. The hydro test was $40. No. The tank has current hydro. Dude wouldn't fill the tank without doing an unnecessary visual. Oh, ok. $14. For a short fill? It depends on our bank pressure...

So, my aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, and I loaded up into the car. The concert was going to be a band called "The Elders". I thought boy do they sound interesting... But, sure enough it ended up being a rowdy Irish band from Kansas City. It had rained earlier in the evening and everyone was dancing in the lagoon and having a good 'ol time. My grandpa and I shared peanut butter ice cream from the Cold Stone stand nearby. Fast forward many years later and my family and I still have toured around with the Elders.

The reason is because the actual venue was good but the coordinator was not and I want to give an honest review on both. The Chilson Senior Center was our venue for our recent wedding. We were married at the Foote Lagoon and had the reception at the senior center. The room is very big and you can opt for just a portion if your event is smaller. We had 150 guests at our wedding and rented 2/3rds of the room which was enough for 22 guest tables, food tables, a bar and a dance floor. We also used the patio for happy hour (tho alcohol isn't allowed out there just FYI). The people who setup the room with the tables had them ready on time and even helped us some with hanging decor. They also did a good job with having a person keeping an eye on the wedding but not drawing attention. They allowed us to use all our own caterers, bartender, etc. which, while more time consuming, saved us $. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of the kitchen. The senior center uses most of the space in both the refrigerator and freezer so you don't have a lot of space there. Also you have to provide all your own pots and pans. They let you know this up front though so that's good. Besides that though I was a huge fan and glad we had it here. The only reason I would not suggest booking your event here is because of the event coordinator Whitney. Look for my post in the Chilson Recreation Center page (doing it there since she's their employee) for why. If she isn't there anymore or they can let you work with someone else, I would 100% recommend this venue.
