Initial impressions are of the physical size of the place, compared to a lot of pound shops, this place is huge, there's room to actually browse without some harassed looking woman in a tracksuit barging past you with her similarly attired offspring trailing in her wake. Which merely gives you more time to peruse the vast amount of tat on sale, like I said in a previous review, the skill is going for the few "name" brands that are for sale at cheapo money, as opposed to lesser products that look more impressive. Sometimes it's hard to tell what is on a 3 for £1 offer or 2 for £1 offer, mainly due to a lack of shelf edge labels, just means you get somebody overcharged and complaining at the till, or frantically running to get a missing product to comlete the offer. But the strangest thing about this store is the background muzak, the first few times I was here, it appeared to be some kind of 80's compilation, to my eternal shame I recognized every song, lately it's some kind of 90's eurodance vibe going on, it's most strange trying to choose which mouthwash to buy when you're being aurally assaulted by the macerena or Barbie Girl. (ok not firmly as such but I'll hold them in my hand instead). Halls are a difficult thing to get right because chances are they are there to be abused and defaced, so it is hard to decorate or put anything particularly extravagant into them for fear it will be destroyed. The beds are not great. The mattress is like lying on a comfortable bed but with someone booting you in the back everytime you roll over. The walls are essentially just massive bricks stacked on top of eachother which means one person singing in their room is something similar to one person singing in your room. In our day we weren't allowed anyone to stay unless you told them about a month in advanced and despite our best efforts, we eventually were caught out and had to stop. The staff are way too strict. That is the biggest downfall. Our friend got hurt on a night out (aided by a nasty tackle during football earlier in the day) so we (not being from halls) had to bring him back to his room (in halls) yet despite being in complete agony and not being able to walk unaided, we had to wait almost an hour in the reception until... and I quote... "security come back from their rounds". Cough cough... prison... cough We weren't trying to smuggle a family of 30 immigrants into the blooming (being careful not to swear) halls. All we were going to do is help him up the steps to his room and them out again. Instead we were made to wait and encouraged to head on back home while security did their rounds. Out of stubbornness we stayed and paced around the reception like a soon-to-be father. The halls could be so much better if it wasn't run by people who have forgotten what it is to be a student. You meet people. You get drunk and you throw up in your sink. That's what first year is about. First year is great fun but Queen's Elms makes it impossible to enjoy yourself fully because it is too much like a prison. And for £3000 a year you would expect a bit more.

The outcome was the worst job I have ever seen in my life , poor work , in a hurry , back door not fitted correctly . large holes left in plaster work . In short , so bad , that the fitters were all given their marching orders ! Apparently they had provided poor work in other peoples homes also. So after sending out fitters with questionable ability and expertise ,who left my home in a terrible state they did not even sort the mess out , they did promise to send someone out but after waiting several days ended up having get it done myself. I feel sick when I seen it , they also promised to come out after the job was finished to check the quality and address any problems before I would sign off for completing the payment . Instead they fitters got me to sign a form for what i thought was for paying them the cash for the job. The piece of paper was folded in 2 so I did not see the heading Satisfaction Note . Total Home N I used this to get the money from the finance company . Be careful of this company . Employees have left 5 Star Reviews on Google also .

Like any estate agents if you ring ahead they will are more than accommodating to find you a suitable house/ flat. The flats we live in currently ( 8 friends live in two separate flats in the one house, 4 to each flat) are a bit smaller than most houses you will find in the Holy Lands, however the kitchen fittings are modern and clean compared to most kitchens I've viewed.. and we have went to over 15 viewings in the past. The flat is big enough for what we need and makes it easier to heat. Rent is a bit pricy for the size of the flat but the location of most of their flats/ houses are perfect as they are just off Botanic Avenue which is VERY close to the Botanic Train Station and Uni Link to Belfast and Jordanstown campus. Lots of shops, cafes, fast food outlets and restaurants around these flats. We come into contact with three members of Staff at University properties, Paul, Margaret and 'the handyman' (Think his name is Brian?) all of whom are very friendly and down to earth. If there is any problem they usually get back to us very quickly, even out of hours.

There's a playpark and facilities for mobile caravans, washrooms and a tennis court and a small shop in the caravan sales park beside it. The beach is just the same as millisle beach but more peaceful with being outside millisle itself. The caravan park is quite big and there's usually always room for the touring caravans.

There is decent parking out front which is handy because it's based on the very busy artery of the Shore Road, which can get chocablock at peak times. They have SO many choices of tiles here, the mind simply boggles. It was hard enough having to pick a colour, then a style, then a material before we had left the house, then when we were confronted with the sheer amount of choice in this place it left us a little shell-shocked. But never fear, the helpful staff member was at our side and guided us through the choices - my Mother in law was a happy camper.

Their local expertise is brilliant and they don't even charge a fee for applying for rental property. A leaking tap i had was dealt with within 1 hour these guys are on the ball. We had a problem when our neighbour who also rented from them would be noisy when he'd bring his girlfriend back, we had to listen to the headboard hitting the wall a lot of times during the night, in fact so many times we nicknamed him "the rabbit". We tried moving into the other room but still heard it and were worried it would wake our baby up. We were also concerned the "rabbiting" would put the wall in. We didn't want to approach him ourselves and contacted vision who got in touch with him and sorted it out. They weren't afraid to handle an awkward situation and were very professional. We haven't had any more screaming or rabbiting keeping us awake.

They have an excellent website and the staff are always welcoming and non intrusive whether you are in the shop or out viewing a property. Me and my friends viewed a few properties with these guys when we were students and I always found them to be helpful, polite and honest. They did not want to oversell to us or pressure us. I found this relaxing and refreshing. It was maybe because they sell lots of flats to students due to their Ormeau Road location but I found the service to be excellent.
