Brown's Corners

I had a hot bath session with some friends in January, and booked a other with my husband. Nice…read morerelaxing experience, PEANUT WARNING. The first session we had milk bath, the room is very beautiful. The experience included an herbal tea, cold water, and some snacks. I did slip 3x, but I was apparently the only one, as my 3 companions had no issue. There is a sign in the room warning of the slippery floor when wet, and there is the option to put a towel on the floor. Be careful going in, the water is HOT. Also be mindful, there is a drain plug at the back of the tub in the middle (by the tree blossoms side). We were in the middle taking a group photo and didn't realize the drain was pressed and popped up. The water drained very, very quickly. We turned on the faucet both hot and cold side, for about 15mins but the water levels didn't really return, so we had about 3 inches of water for the rest of the time lol. Second session with my husband, they called me the day before to let me know the milk bath was unavailable and we switched to the detox bath. The water was a dark colour but it was still a nice experience. Staff are very friendly. They knock on your door about 20 mins before your time is up. The booking time includes getting ready to go in and out. There is a shower in the room to rinse and cool off. The staff recommended a cool shower every 20 mins so not to get too heated. The snacks included some veggies (cucumber, Carrot, celery) and dip, Ritz crackers, and unfortunately, peanuts. I am mildly allergic to peanuts, fortunately non-anaphylaxic. They really shouldn't use peanuts or any nuts imo. There was a notice on their Instagram that said they will be shutting down the tubs after March 2025.

Who's here because of Instagram? -Raises hand-…read more This place blew up among my GTA friends. A way to emulate the Japanese Onsen experience? Sign me up! It's definitely a cute place to try out. We signed up for the Maple room, and it was a beautifully decorated space with a square tub full of milky water, a little calligraphy table, and a shower. First of all, this is a perfect place for a photoshoot. From the aesthetics, to the Kimono they give you, to the little rose petals, it's a wonderful place to set up some amazing shots. Having said that, it is all a little "fake" feeling. The water didn't leave my skin feeling particularly nourished. The rose petals were cloth that were kind of frayed and used. And of course, it's less of an onsen and more of a hot tub experience. All that is fine though as long as you don't expect it to be anything more than that. There were also a few things that fell a bit short of the "luxe" vibes this spa was giving. For one, they told us to text or call front desk if we needed anything. At some point, we wanted to look at a menu and I tried both texting and calling but didn't get any responses until the last 10 mins. Another thing was that the light wasn't turned on in the shower area in our room and we weren't sure if we were allowed to use it or not. Is this place worth it? I still think so, especially for a fun time with a couple of friends. The price is reasonable for 1.5 hours and you can go with 4 people in total, making it even more reasonable. There are some snacks and refreshments, as well as an array of skincare products you can use. It's a fancy hot tub that's very photogenic.

Quite a good Chinese owned spa in Markham. It is very clean (which is a prime consideration for…read moreme), and the staff is friendly. I bought a package of facials here, and while it was not cheap compared to some of the other places in the area, it is always professionally done. The products used are of good quality, and I have never had a reaction to any of it. My esthetician also follows my progress so she is able to adjust the treatments according to how my skin presents itself that day. The place seems to be focused on weight loss treatments primarily, although I have never tried any and do not plan to do so (not sure why one can't just lose weight using the good old fashioned method of exercise and diet). I have not tried any of their other services, although i know there is a steam room on site.

I asked that I can only come during morning appoint between 9am-1pm if any available for next week. She replied no space available next week or neither in 2 weeks, so then I asked her, can I make any morning appoint whenever you have any morning appoint on your calendar? -"Basically MADAME, I DON'T have any morning appoint available coz they are all booked by clients who come here regularly" WHAT??? For the whole year? Customer Service was just unpleasant so I told her is probably better that I cancel my Groupon purchase... "yes do that then" What kind of beauty salon is that? With this poor telephone manner??!!! Imagine with their skills???!!! NOT recommended!!!!

Trust your gut instinct the 1st time. We were supposed to go to a Korean Jjimbang, but changed my…read moremind last minute and decided to come here. The place is small, we arrived 1/2 hour early for our appointment. It was for a 1 hour sauna, 30 mins scrub and 30 mins foot massage. We were given a change of clothes. 1st red flag - the change area with the lockers are is only separated by a door to the scrub area. The change area door has no lock- that means any of those 2 doors can just open and you will be exposed. Sauna was ok, floor was hot enough and there are mats and head rests you can use, so we were able to relax, until 15 mins later the lady from the front desk knocks and says we can get our scrub done as the therapist is ready. The scrub room is in the same change room area. The attendant left the door open the whole time I was having my scrub done. 2nd red flag - lights are so bright- I was exposed in full glory in my birthday suit, anxiously hoping no one goes in the change area. 3rd red flag- they use a regular nylon loofah- not a new one for each person- gross! They also use a dipper and the attendant uses that to throw water at you. I would have saved $$ if I did this at the comfort of my home, using my own loofah without the worry of people walking in on you. 4the red flag- they use a bath soap bar- same bar that they use for everyone, it made me cringe. It took so much resolve not to walk out. 4th red flag - attendants were not wearing uniforms, just casual clothes do you can't distinguish who works there. It looks unprofessional. Next was the foot reflexology. It would have been good, but the 2 attendants kept speaking in their language. There was no way for me to relax, I felt like I was getting a mani pedi in a Vietnamese nail salon. After the foot reflexology the front desk said we could go back to the sauna to finish our 1 hour session. Why would I do this? Makes no sense as I already showered why would I lie in the floor again? That being said it was a waste of $$

We went here because it's right across from Hub Climbing and I found a groupon for a couples…read moremassage and sauna. The sauna is pretty relaxing except there are some loud banging noses every time someone runs water in another room. We were in there for an hour, which felt pretty long. I wish they had told us how long we'd be in there. They basically put us in the sauna and said they'd come get us. The oil massage is very relaxing, but it definitely not as good as a massage you would get from a registered massage therapist. Also, the ladies' change room is very small, cluttered and barebones. There was a massage table taking up the whole shower area, so I couldn't even wash off the oil post-massage if I wanted to. I went to try to find the Hubster after the massage and could hear a shower going in the men's change room and a man (not the Hubster) and woman discussing water temperature. I get the feeling this place isn't a spot that women often frequent, as the men's change room was way more kitted out from what I could see. The experience was pretty awkward and uncomfortable. I won't be going back again.
