Great fabric store with great customer service! The lady working behind the counter was very kind spirited and helped us find exactly what we needed. She seemed like she genuinely cared about our trip to Hawaii and made us feel like home. While we were shopping she asked how a customer would react to a "be back soon sign". We were surprised but said it would be normal. She then told us that she is the only worker and has to put a sign up just to use the bathroom or get her lunch. This is a small business and some yelp reviewers need to be realistic about their expectations of a shop where there is only one worker expected to work 12 hour days. We greatly enjoyed our experience at this shop and would recommend to anyone!! read more

My sweet husband and I were in Lahaina in 2017 and thoroughly had a delightful time with Fahima. She is a very compassionate person. We had some great discussion about her original home and her Mom. I loved the fabric I purchased here. This was a vacation and we were not in any hurry to purchase but to enjoy our time on Maui. Today, 8 29 2023, I pray that her store was spared. I went there on a Sunday and they're in a mall on Front Street. It said, "sorry we will be back Monday at 1 PM ..so I went back on Monday, not there..still closed So I call..and no answering machine. Wow. I always try and support our local businesses. So when our home needed new bedding for new beds, we went to this shop, which is locally owned, claiming to sell locally made quilts. We live on Maui and support our local businesses. I should also point out, the pandemic is in full swing, and businesses are hurting. We like to do our part in helping these kind of places survive to see better days. The only employee here, who we find is also the owner, Fehima, made her first impression by being annoyed because we interrupted whatever it was she was watching on her tablet. She spoke sharply to us, answered questions rudely and condescendingly and generally made us feel like our business was unwanted. Understand, there was no one else in the shop leading up to or during our time there. The outdoor shopping center had very few people around (again, pandemic) so it wasn't as though she were busy. Finally, she represented the pieces in her shop as being made locally, on Maui. However, she could not answer simple questions that those who enjoy supporting local artisans might ask about the product. Ultimately, we learned these quilts are not made here, but in the Philippines. We don't have an issue with them being made in the Philippines, but that they are specifically marketed as Made on Maui. We cannot recommend this business. The owner is unfriendly and unhelpful. She is dishonest, as she misrepresented her products to us. read more

We stopped in to see what Hawaiian quilt patterns the shop had and to my delight she carries quite a few. She has a nice selection of fabrics and completed quilts of various sizes. She was even so kind as to sell me some thread and needles to get started on my quilt kit right away, which were not out for sale. I'm excited to go back and pick up a few more items. read more

I attempted to return a simple item within 2 min of purchase and the lady said nope. All sales are final. Not good service and return policy sucks. Please do not buy anything here as all items are extremely priced high. The same items across the street are half the price. No prices are listed, I wonder why....Owner if you have questions. This was the most unfun quilt shop I had ever been in. The guy behind the counter was not helpful, was not pleasant, and just matter-of-fact. He did not know anything about quilting and I felt very uncomfortable being in the store. I wanted some information on the appliqués and he had no idea what I was talking about. Small shop. Along one wall is their fabrics the other is ready to purchase handicrafts such as quilted potholders, pillows, etc. Mostly Hawaiian cotton prints and tropical barkcloths and a decent range of Kona cotton solids. Aloha is a wonderful spirit that one comes to Hawaii to experience. After encountering the Quilt's n Fabric Land shopkeeper, however, I found myself becoming familiar with the Hawaiian word, Hewa or evil... My wife, a professional quilter, and quilting author, marked this store as a destination point during our trip to Maui. At 9:00 we went to Quilt's n Fabric Land in Lahaina to await its opening. At 9:20 the shop had not opened so my wife called the store. No answer or answering machine. By 9:35 we gave up disappointed and headed back to our hotel. At 9:45 my wife phoned the store. The shopkeeper answered the phone and we asked when she opened. She said the store is open. My wife repeated our scenario and she lied that she opened at around 9:20. Frustrated my wife said she was a big quilter and was now too far to turn around. A substantial purchase was missed due to this lazy lying salesperson. To top it off the woman had the nerve to actually text my wife calling her a big quilter! Told her that it was God's plan that she did not get to buy fabric and that He (God) was after all really The quilter and it was not for her to get fabric! The nerve of her texting and insulting my wife and then throwing around the God card. No aloha there, just hewa! How about you do your job and open the store on time! I read many negative reviews before coming to this store. I was hesitant because of that, but this was the closest to my hotel. I took a chance and I'm very glad I did. The store itself is small, but it is full of all kinds of goodies! The left side is shelves full of bolts of fabric, (beautiful Hawaiian print fabric that is just not found on the mainland) and the middle and right side is full of pre-made items. The prices were actually lower than I was expecting, so I was able to purchase more than I thought I would. The gentleman helping me was extremely courteous and helpful. He stated it was only his 3rd day working there, and that he was still getting the hang of things. I think he did a wonderful job, I am thrilled with my purchases, and recommend this place to all! read more

If you are looking for authentic Hawaiian fabrics, batiks and patterns, this is the place! It is located in a mall with lots of shops in the heart of Lahaina. I found several fabrics that I would never be able to find on the mainland. If you are at all into fabric, quilting or sewing projects make sure you stop at this store! Aloha! read more

Quilters, listen up! We stayed in Kapalua and I looked all over for a quilting store because I wanted to take a Hawaiian quilt pattern and some fabrics Home. This quilt shop is right in the middle of some great shopping and dining in down town Lahaina. There is a delightful assortment of Asian prints, traditional Hawaiian fabrics, and some beautiful batiks. All 100% cotton, so perfect for quilting. I bought an assortment of fat quarters in different batiks and a pillow pattern kit with all the instructions and materials to make a traditional honu (turtle) design. Everything is super well organized and inviting. There are lots of different patterns and some books on Hawaiian quilting. If you are just looking for a handmade gift to take home, she also has quite an assortment of pre made gifts like quilted pillows, bags, pin cushions, quilts and potholders, Hawaiian made oils, lotions, and soaps. I had a fun time and I definitely will return when I come back to Maui! read more

I came upon this little quilt shop by accident. My mom is a quilter, so I took a picture thinking my mom would get a kick out of this shop. The fabric's were limited to only Hawaiian prints, though beautiful not much of a selection. When I walked to the back of the store there were two women, one laying on her back on the cutting table and the other sitting at the counter. Neither one of the women greeted me but kept talking to themselves. I said hello, asked if I could take pictures inside the store and it was made pretty clear that I had already taken my one picture. Lahaina is, was my favorite place to visit while on our cruise. Great place to shop, walk around and eat. Considering this was the only quilt shop that I came across, I find it ashame that they were so unfriendly and unprofessional. Yikes! The lady who was behind the counter seemed as if she couldn't care less to have a customer in her store. I am a quilter and was very curious, she answered my questions tersely and with no ALOHA, was rude and seemed like she would rather I not be there at all. Not a welcoming environment, definitely not the store you want to go to with questions or when looking for quilting advice. This is a small quilt/fabric shop in a shopping mall off Front St. There are many ready made items to buy as gifts and they also have some bolts of nice fabrics to buy, some fat quarters, Hawaiian quilt patterns, and books on making crochet leis. The problem is that I already had been to Fabric Mart, Sew Special, and Discount Fabric Warehouse. Compared to those stores, the selection is small. Fabric Mart and Discount Fabric Warehouse have the better prices on Hawaiian and Asian prints. The lady at the counter seemed bored. read more
