We visit Front St multiple times during each trip to the island and we stopped into Whalers twice in the last week. It's just a general store with a few trinkets/souvenirs. We bought some bottled water for the afternoon walk around Lahaina town. Cost is pretty much on par with island pricing. They also have snacks/chips/etc. In the past we have bought additional items. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is really the size. It's quite small compared to places like ABC Store but I'd rather support a local business than a corporate spot like ABC.

There is a large selection of dresses, aloha shirts, T-shirts and souvenirs, the kind that you find on Front Street so you are getting a real bargain here on the exact same stuff you would find a lot more expensive elsewhere. The service here was friendly and helpful! One of the best things about this store is they have their own FREE parking lot which is a rare find in the Front Street area of Lahaina. IMHO Every time we…read morecome to Maui, we always find ourselves visiting Leolas on Lower Honoapiilani Road in Ka'anapali. It's located in a long strip mall anchored by the Times Market, and across the street from food truck central. The store is brightly lit and nicely organized. They have a very nice selection of aloha wear at fair prices. My husband's head requires a bigger hat and he's been looking to replace the one that makes him odd. LOL The price was right, $17.99, so I took pictures of their hat selection and sent them to him. Long story short, he made his way to the store, tried on the hats. They fit well and looked good on him. Sale! My daughter found additional souvenir gifts to buy. Service is aloha friendly! Thank you Leolas, see you next time!

I was attracted to the wooden starfish, zippered turtle coin purses, and other souvenirs outside. Inside, they have a dizzying array of jewellery, wooden artefacts, and wood handicrafts a little different from your standard Maui souvenirs. All at VERY low prices. I purchased a lava chakra bead bracelet, a mystic topaz ring, two blue topaz rings, and some smoky quartz earrings. They had rose quartz, amethyst, mystic topaz and others, but their stock leans mostly to Quartz, in various types. They had beautiful Indonesian Wayang Golek puppets, for only $35 which is a steal, and many other Thai/Indonesian looking mirrors, and other wooden handicrafts that are appealing. My friend bought necklaces for $15/$25, and we left Maui with a big bag full of beautiful jewellery pieces, at really cheap prices. This store can get crowded, and the staff was nice and friendly, despite the constant rushes of people lingering around counters, trying on pieces and looking into mirrors.
