Walking into this shop you immediately see a vast selection of fabric, sewing notions, and so much more than a "typical Quilt shop" offers. I love the organization of the fabrics in various color stories that draw you in and welcome you to find the exact thing you didn't know you needed. They also have a variety of patterns, books and projects and the staff couldn't be more pleasant to work with. In addition to fabrics and notions, there are also a selection of wood implements and tools that are hand tooled and the highest of quality. Whether driving up from Austin or south from Dallas, this is a shop NOT to be missed. Having been to many quilt stores as a quilting spouse, this has to be one of the best. The selection of fabrics and patterns that I haven't seen before is excellent. They are very friendly and helpful, yet not right on your tail like a chase vehicle. They have a general store next door if you get bored as the spouse. read more

We drove by this quilt barn a few days ago when we were visiting Waco and decided to make a stop. It's located near the Homestead Market and they share the same parking lot with other shops on the plaza. This is by far the best quilt shop I've ever seen in Texas and I was really impressed with the wide selections of fabrics they have in stock. From quilting fabrics, colorful ribbons, decorative buttons, to clothing making kits, the Quilt Barn caters to all the needs a crafter would need. I also love the fact that they have a lot of Texas-themed fabrics!! Making this a great spot to visit for both locals and tourists. Lastly, I feel like I'm obligated to leave a note here about their pricing...it's sooo reasonably priced. I picked two different fabrics and I love my souvenirs from the Quilt Barn!! read more

Wow this place is amazing with all the latest fabrics and nothing old and out of date like some large craft stores. They have lots of creative ideas available and a super selection of discounted fat quarters to add to your quilting products. They also teach classes and have other crafts available. This is the prettiest quilt store I've ever been in. They have a variety of quilt fabrics. I love their Lori Holt corner. They also have so many beautiful quilts on display for inspiration. I visited the Quilt Barn for the first time on Black Friday in conjunction with the Homestead Fair which happens every Thanksgiving weekend. It had been several years since I last attended the Fair, but the Quilt Barn, along with many other of Homestead Heritage's stores, had not been built yet. I only began quilting in the last few years even though I'm over 70 - I had to retire first! I only spent about $100 in store (for items I found listed on their website, which is the reason we stopped at the Quilt Barn first before proceeding to the Fair). I am eager to get back to the store next week after the Fair is over so that I can take more time choosing from their wonderful selection of fabrics - and use the 10% discount coupon they gave me at checkout! Keep in mind that for me, it is about an hour and a half drive - or more - from the DFW Metroplex, but it is well worth the drive! I just hope they don't sell out of what I want during the Fair because there were thousands at the Fair and quite a few stopped in to visit the shop. I am certain I will have the opportunity for questions and a more leisurely shopping experience when I return during the week and there will be far fewer customers demanding their attention. The shop staff were great. I'm also eager to sign up for one of their quilting classes. read more

They answered every question I had and taught me so much in just a small amount of time I was there. They have beautiful fabrics of all kinds, panels, prints, calicos, everything you can think of. As an avid quilter, I can say this is the BEST quilt shop in North Central Texas. It beats all of the shops the Dallas metroplex has to offer. The fabrics are beautiful. Lots of patterns, ideas, and kits. The other side of the store is an area for the clothes makers and even handmade skirts and little girl's rompers. The ladies are so helpful and sweet. Cannot wait to work on my next quilt from the beautiful haul. read more
