Competing with chains like In-and-Out, Chick-fil-A, A&W, Shake Shack, Culver's, and Steak 'n Shake. Being my first time trying it, I opted for both a beef and chicken burger. The hamburger was a double cheeseburger and the chicken was the breaded spicy one. Both were "all the way" which includes lettuce tomato and onions and condiments. The beef is very similar to that of In-and-Out, it's juicy and greasy. But the patty is bigger, similar to the size of a whopper. The double burger is at least 1/4 pound of meat. The spicy chicken is breaded and not too spicy. There is a kick, but not as potent as Burger Kings angry chicken. This didn't do much for me and IMO can't hold a candle to Chick-Fil-A's or Jollibee's. The fries are nothing special either. The cut is in between McD's and BK. They're not bad, but they're not great either. Overall, Whataburger's burgers are clearly the choice if you're to dine here. I didn't try their grilled burger and in hindsight should have tried that over the breaded spicy chicken. If I'm being honest here, I'd have to say I prefer Whataburger's double cheeseburger over Steak 'n Shake and In-and-Out when looking for that greasy munchies meal after a pub crawl. Didn't get the guys name taking the order but he was extremely nice and welcoming. Food was fresh and quick and delicious. Next time I'm in San Antonio I'm looking forward to going back and trying different items on their menu.

We arrived right before the lunch rush, so a lot of people came in after us and had to wait a bit. What I really appreciated was that Mark himself came out to speak with guests and explain the delay. That level of care and hands-on customer service stood out to me. Mark has an incredible story, and I made sure to share it with our crew. Everyone was excited that we were able to support a local Black-owned business while in town. And most importantly... everything was AMAZING. The burgers were bomb. We were originally planning on going in her car which is a silver Chrysler so we put it in the app as her car but last minute decided to go in mine which is a green Toyota. About 20 maybe 30 minutes later my mom decides to go inside and check on our order. She asks them politely about our order and the bald manager who I think is actually the owner was rude to her. He said that they had lost the order, then proceeded to take forever to do something about it. He told my mom that they can't start the order until we arrive at the location, which we had arrived a long time before that so it should've been ready by then. He also kept saying how they thought we weren't there because there wasn't a silver car in spot 5. We had put we arrived and were in spot 5 if you see someone is in spot five GO AND TALK TO THEM TO SEE IF THERE WAS A MISTAKE. That's common sense, but this worker kept saying "Are you in a silver car? We couldn't see your car." Very keen on proving a point. Eventually they gave us the food but it took over 45 minutes to get our food during our limited lunch. If you go make sure to put the correct car or the workers will throw a fit apparently. Again the food was great tho.

That being said, you can tell they are understaffed during the busy times. When I went there were 2 people working in the entire place. That's not their fault though, the staff truly tries really hard to take care of you. They deserve praise even if management is cheap when it comes to staffing. The only issue I see is the location they chose. They'd get much more business in the Converse area. Food and staff A+ Management C-
